We told you about Jalen Rose getting a DUI a couple days ago, an incident that had taken place several weeks before.

Turns out, Rose didn’t tell his employer ESPN either, so they have yanked him off the air, according to the USA Today.

“Jalen has accepted full responsibility for his actions. Both parties are taking this very seriously, and as a result, we’ve agreed that he will not be on our air while he addresses this situation,” said ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz in an email to (USA Today blog) Game On!

A couple of lessons here. One, obviously, don’t drink and drive. Second, the coverup is always worse and more problematic than the crime itself. See: Nixon, Richard.

I hope he didn’t use the Barkley defense (I was only speeding because I was on my way to get a BJ).

Keep him off the air, we’ll call it even.

Jalen, hang in there, you’ll be back for the playoffs, who can they get that is better.

I think the fact that he was pulled off the air is more about how he failed to disclose this arrest to ESPN management for 3 weeks. Did he actually think they wouldn’t find out?

Looks like finishing school could have done him a bit of good. Dig deeper I am sure this is only the surface. These boys will like to hide behind kid functions and education because it makes them look good. Truth is they don’t care. It’s a dollar. I’m here in Detroit and see them(fab brothas) as drinking, smokin fools. One can only question who was the one that bailed him out and drove him home?

to the Guy that comment before me how is a DUI ghetto?

  13. shakago - Apr 2, 2011 at 8:31 PM

Sorry this happened to Jalen. He just needs to keep doing what he’s doing. And for the idiot that made the “Ghetto” comment, I’m willing to bet the total in your bank account is less than $300.00. Jalen Rose- High School All-American, 2 Time Finalist for NCAA Tournament, 13 year NBA Playing career, a school that he has started, and other things. And you wanna talk about “Ghetto”? Slap yourself!!!
