Boston is slumping as they try to get guys healthy for the playoffs. San Antonio has lost four straight as guys sit trying to get healthy and rested for the playoffs.

Dwight Howard looked around the Orlando locker room after his team lost to Atlanta Wednesday and told the Orlando Sentinel maybe there is something to what is going on with the Celtics and Spurs.

“We need our rest, you know,” Howard said.

“A lot of guys are trying to get healthy, and we keep pounding them away. Gilbert (Arenas), his knee isn’t right yet. That’s not excuses, but when you have a short roster sometimes rest is what’s going to get everybody back healthy. You can’t force the issue or press your team when you know everybody’s not healthy.

“We’ve got to have our rest,” he added later. “We’ve practiced enough. We’ve had enough shootarounds. It’s about rest right now.”

Stan Van Gundy’s reaction? The Heat will be practicing Thursday.

I hate the Magic but what the heck…. DWIGHT HOWARD 4 MVP!!!!

He’s increased his offensive production, been a defensive eradicator and kept an erratic team together like superglue. I seriously am not a fan of the Magic, but how can you deny how VALUABLE Dwight Howard is? This his best season and if the Magic had won a few more games I have no doubt he would be accepting his first MVP…. but instead everybody is unjustly attributing the Bulls success to Derrick Rose. Tom Thibodeau deserves Coach of the Year honors but Most Valuable goes to the big man carrying Orlando to a solid record.

They will give him defensive player of the year and totally ignore his offensive game, no matter how hard Ewing works with this kid he will alway’s be seen as a defensive player, too bad.
Hey Mamba has only one MVP, it is a popularity contest now. Rose is good.
