That was vintage Carmelo Anthony Monday night.

His team needed a win and he put up 39 points hitting shots with a man in his face all night. He controlled the offense and the game in the second half. Watch the video.

The flip side is he shot a pedestrian 46.1 percent, he took the team out of any rhythm with all the isolations, but he scored a lot of points and the Knicks got a dramatic win. And they way they have played lately the Knicks will take even a win like this.

The big difference last night is that the iso’s were set plays, everyone including Amare cleared out one side of the floor for Melo almost every possession in the second half. I have to give Amare credit, he wasn’t getting the ball at all last night but still busted it on D.

I’m pretty sure some ‘vintage Dick Bavetta’ helped the Knicks win last night. Howard’s final foul was ridiculous, as was the T that followed it. Coupled with the fact that Nelson and Redick were out and the Knicks STILL needed OT to win, that says alot about where NY’s headed.

shelden williams was the man last nite his defensive stand in the 4th quarter was pivital, bad call on howard. contributed. Amare needs more touches late if only to stop 4 players running at melo

How is it “vintage carmelo” if he is in his prime and only 26?
