Jalen was trying to say he was jealous of Grant at the time because he happened to grow up in a well-off household with a stable family unit. Things that Jalen never had growing up. And there was the impression that was the case for most of the athletes Duke recruited. Hardly controversial. He never said that was still the way he currently felt. Jalen was just trying to give context for his feelings at that point in his life.

Unless, of course, we’re talking about the press, who behave sometimes like a kid on the playground trying to start a fight between two people. How many times have you heard an interviewer ask someone what they thought of what another person said about them? It’s like a standard friggin’ question in journalism these days, yet springs from the emotional level of an eight-year-old.

Grant could’ve saved some time by watching the whole film instead of a couple of provocative promos somebody cued up for him.
