LOL! The only way that that retaining the Kings though as a team name would be confusing would be if the Maloof's pulled an Arte Moreno (MLB Angels owner), and wanted to rename the team The Los Angeles Kings of Anaheim! (and that is not one of the names requested to be trademarked by the Maloof's).

Personally? I think that the Maloof's should do something really groundbreaking and rename the team to the "Queens" and change the team colors to hot pink and white!

I'm sure that the Maloof Bros. will lose a lot of sleep over your pledge to not support the Anaheim Royals. Since the odds of you buying any Anaheim Royals logo'd merchandise are slim and none (and slim will be left behind in Sacramento), no loss there. Since you have no intention of becoming a Royals season ticket holder, no big loss there to the Maloofs either.

And when was the last time you were in Oklahoma City, much less to pay your way in for a Thunder home game? Guess that's not a big loss for Thunder ownership either.

The bottom line is that we live in a capitalistic society and when cities like Seattle and Sacramento are warned multiple times that their franchise(s), are no longer financially viable without a new arena and the city chooses to do nothing about it, it's not an ownership problem, it's a city's problem. Simple as that. It's your elected Sacramento city officials who are screwing over Kings fans, not the Maloof's!

It's no different than the thousands of companies that have moved out of California because they can't afford and don't want to deal with California's expensive workman's comp system (so they move out!). As the Chinaman who runs his own laundry service likes to say: "No ticky? No washy!". (LOL!)

I too am a Laker fan and I am ashamed of the Laker fan comments above.

I will not support the OKC Thunder, unless they leave OKC, because they literally were stolen from Seattle under similar circumstances - although their owner was more duplicitous. I also will not support the Anaheim Royals, or whatever their name is, while they remain in Anaheim.

Times are tough for everyone today. It is just that owners have more options than to fans, or even players. I also don't see why owners should be rewarded with tax dollars for their stadiums when they are among the privileged in our system of government. They should have to slug it out, just like the small business owners do in our country.
