The player who took the most physical punishment was Wilt Chamberlain. Of course, he also dished out the most punishment. When he took off his jersey in the locker room after a game his body had red welts on it from the elbows and such.

I’d argue that now is the time to retaliate.

No, don’t start a brawl. But stand your ground, and if you get suspended then ok it’s a 2 game suspension when the team is still bad. That’s better than hard fouls for the next 5 years, or hard fouls when he’s dunking over someone that can lead to injuries.

The Clippers can’t afford to have Griffin retaliate, he’s too important. They need someone on the team to step into, or they need to sign someone to take on the role of goon/enforcer, like on a hockey team.
