Video: Boozer leaves game after fall; team says ankle sprain, X-rays negative

Mar 9, 2011, 11:45 PM EDT

Carlos Boozer injured AP

UPDATE 11:45 pm: Looks like we’re going to have to wait until Thursday for any definitive answers on Boozer’s leg. Here is what coach Tom Thibodeau told the Associated Press after the game:

“X-ray was negative and we’ll have to wait and see (Thursday) what type of swelling he has,” coach Tom Thibodeau said.

10:33 pm: The video looks scary. Very scary. But it may turn out to be not that serious.

Carlos Boozer left in the fourth quarter of the Bulls win over Charlotte with what is officially being called a sprained ankle. X-rays were negative but how severe a sprain and how long he could be out is not yet known.

With 4:24 left in the game and the Bulls up by 17, Kyle Korver leaves a nifty little pass to Boozer who was on the baseline and cut in for a dunk. Kwame Brown was late on the coverage (shocking, I know) and opted for the hard foul.

Boozer went down awkwardly, as you can see in the video. As we get any updates on his condition we will pass them along.

Not to laugh at the expense of someone that is injured, but LOL!

Welcome to Boozerworld Chicago fans. He’ll be out 3-14 months.

Really dude? As an NBA fan, you would never want to see someone get injured.

I hope Boozer a quick and healthy recovery, and wish him the best.

I’m a Jazz fan. We sat through his “injuries” for 6 years. Now it’s Chicago’s turn.

This is huge. If he is out for an extended period of time, our lacking offense is going to be even more lacking. He’s our only legitimate threat in the low post. Come back strong Booz. Let’s make a run.

I love Boozer, I wish the Heat would’ve gone after him instead of Bosh, but dude is Mr. Glass

I just have to laugh over the on going bitterness Utah Jazz fans show towards Boozer, and to a lesser degree Kyle Korber too. No offense Jazz fans, but if you’re not a Mormon (and especially if you are a black man), Salt Lake City ain’t exactly a “happening place”. Boozer and Korber gave you several good years, but this is a free country and I certainly can’t blame either of them for wanting to go to a more cosmopolitan city and leave the Mormon underwear that was donated by fans their to them behind.

Mormon girls are hot! Anyways good luck to Boozer getting healthy, it would be nice to see a different team in the East go to the Finals.

Boozer hasn’t been playing that great. Taj Gibson is actually a better defender and rebounder. I’m not sure there would be a huge drop off in production at the 4 if Boozer misses time.
