Hopefully the franchise tag nonsense will go away with the new CBA. In concept the idea wasn’t a bad one, as it provided a ray of hope that the mostly greedy players would go for the extra guaranteed money even if it meant staying in a city they didn’t want to be in and/or with a bad team, but the money has become so big now (as we saw with La Bron and Bosh this offseason), many of the players no longer seem to care (about the extra guaranteed year and larger payday that goes with the franchise tag).
