“Bottom line is the big three in Wade, James, and Bosh make any team a champion caliber team regardless of the supporting cast.”…the real bottom line is they have NOT won a championship yet. we will see what happens in the playoffs. and IF the Heat do not win, no excuses…remember that.

I looked up that Dexter Pittman guy…he is in some obsetity awareness program…(images of oliver miller appear!)

hmmm…i disagree. i think we have seen what miami is capable of already. there was so much pressure placed on them initially, you know those egomaniacs are playing their hearts out to satisfy the critics.

Bottom line is the big three in Wade, James, and Bosh make any team a champion caliber team regardless of the supporting cast. They have James Jones (one of the best 3 point shooters in the game) and they also have Haslem who will be back for the playoffs.

Also they have the Rook Dexter Pittman at 6’11 348 pounds who was playing well in the minor leagues before his injury and could very well take one of the current Heat centers out of the lineup in the playoffs.

No one has even seen what Miami is FULLY capable of yet and when they do it’s going to be very scary for opposing teams. On a side note why isn’t everyone in the NBA world getting on Melo for his stunts he has pulled in this whole trade? Granted he didn’t get on television to make his decision but he has acted like a little hoe during this whole thing.

305phinphan, you put way too much emphasis on the regular season. granted, the heat will be very tough in the playoffs BUT without a true big man, teams like the celtics and lakers will pound them inside. they play a series, not just 1 game. i do think the heat have a legit shot at the title but my $ is on C’s, Lakers, or Spurs…

But it’s just a matter of respect. And tired legs (the Lakers are an older team that does not deal as well with long road trips). When the Lakers respect their opponent as they did Tuesday they are a force, one of the league’s elite. Their length is nearly impossible for teams to deal with.
Tuesday night they were singing respect in a way that would have made Aretha proud. And in a way that should remind everyone that come the playoffs — when they do respect their opponents and have plenty of time to rest — that they are still the champions. And knocking them off that thrown will not be easy. Not in the least.

Why would they need to worry about the Lakers as the article above stated? Last time I checked Miami DESTROYED LA without having a clog center. Plus LA needs to worry about why they can’t beat the Cavs, they are not in the same class as the Heat are right now. The Celtics are a different story. It seems like every time the Heat have played them this year that both Wade and James struggle to get the ball in the basket (as easy as it sounds) it has nothing to do with the Celtics D but for some reason Wade and Bron are off those nights. Either way they will figure something out and make a huge push in the playoffs and possibly the championship.

the laughter may be from thinking the heat could get a solid center in return for miller…which can happen. ya never know. but like the article suggests, they don’t need an offensive center but a brut to clog up the lanes. who would be available?

What about Eddy Curry after the T’wolves buy out his contract? Either way not many reliable centers on the market right now so I don’t see much happening.

I’d hate to see him go because of his potential, but if you can move Miller, Joel Anthony, Chalmers and the T-Wolves’ 2nd round pick for any type of above average PG or C, I’d do it.

Misleading title/article… you make it sound as though the Heat are desperately looking to unload the guy.

I do agree that his 3-point shooting can be replaced by Jones, but I think it goes without saying that Jones is a spot-up 3-pt shooter and Miller is not; you lose more than just points there. Plus this guy was a direct request from LeBron… you think he’s cool with the idea of shipping him out before he’s displayed his full potential with this team? Doubt it.

Haslem’s also untouchable due to loyalty factor… stabbing a true team player in the back is not an option. Gotta get by with what we’ve got, that’s all there is to it.
