Call this crazy but hear me out on this scenario….

Melo only wants to go to the Knicks, and makes it clear through “his people” said people backdoor channel to D. Walsh and let him know. That way they don’t give up the farm for him, therefore making it clear without being clear that the Nugs have zero leverage.

You really think that Melo wants to go to NYC with a depleted roster, if he plays it right Knicks have upper hand and only have to give up minimal things for Melo to make “their” cap right. And he comes to NYC with a decent team intact.

It makes sense to me at least, but what do I know?
