Ray Allen has as pure a stroke as the Association has ever seen.

The three-pointer he drained Thursday night to pass Reggie Miller and become the NBA’s all time leader in three pointers made was a classic Ray Allen play. He filled the lane on the break, stopped up at the arc and when the pass came his way it was one fluid motion to the release.

Watch and enjoy a pure shooter.

Did the NBA schedule these 2 Celtics/Lakers matchups in anticipation that Ray Allen would be about to break the record?

I thought it was odd to have both games so close together so I did the math and if you had to guess how many games into the season it would take Ray Allen to break the record it would be between 50-60. He’s right on pace, needing 52 games to set the record. But can we give the NBA that much credit for thinking ahead?
