well technically we'd only be freeing up the differences in salary between brewer and randolph after this season, because curry is an addition and we arent trading someone with an 11 million cap hit so there for our cap will be very close to this years...im guessing a million less or so?

Melo is a scoring machine at times however I really love Wilson Chandler's game. He plays at both ends. I think the Knicks should wait and not give up anyone except Curry. -WR

I agree completely. I think this is a strong move for 'Sota. Randolph gets a bad rep, but his rebounding rates are through the roof.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/r/randoan01.html

The main problem for him, is he's not a smart offensive basketball player, and had the misfortune of playing under the two most offensive minded coaches in Nelson and Dantoni. He is still 21 so there is plenty of room for growth. As for the picks, we are probably looking at the worst draft in recent history. Plus the wolves have a boat load of picks, and a roster filled with young talent. Trading Utah's pick is not going to kill them. Getting Eddy Curry sounds funny, until you look at his cap number. That will come in handy whenever next season happens because they will have plenty of cap flexibility.

Finally Corey Brewer is Corey Brewer. He is just taking minutes away from Wes. If they can get almost 12 million in cap space, plus a promising 6'11 defense player for Brewer and a pick, why wouldn't you do that?

I think this trade is absolutely HORRIBLE for the Nuggets. If the rumors were true, Denver would have rejected Mayo and Gallo possibly Landry, and now are settling for Wilson, Brewer and a Pick. Someone needs to be fired.

how is this a bad move for minnesota? they're probably going to use their utah 1st which would be in the 20th-26th pick depending how they finish up...then minnesota gets an athletic big man that could probably guard lamarcus aldridge, pau gasol, bynum etc a lot better than darko or love can...plus who knows if we want to try out curry for next yr? darko is still darko and is mildly retarded when posting up he has 5 TO a game. cant make 4 foot shots to save a puppy...so i can see where minnesota wants this deal...brewer is brewer, he cant shoot and is just a liability out there, he takes too many chances on defense that he shouldnt and gets burned so in other words were giving up a below average player and a late 1st round pick for randolph (who has ubers of talent) and a free rental on another big in curry

starters:
flynn/ridnour
wes johnson
beasly
love
darko

after darko commits 3 straigt TO:
flynn/ridnour
webster
beasly
love
randolph

its better than what we have right now so as a life long fan i'll take it

I agree with zackd. The Nuggets have been screwed from the beginning. Carmelo never had any intention of going anywhere but NY. Donnie Walsh can sit back and do the full Michael Corleone with Denver: http://macnchis.wordpress.com/2011/01/22/wwmd/

He should even make them pay to fly 'Melo to NYC out of Ujiri's pocket.

"Going from Derrick Favors, Devin Harris, and three first-round picks to Wilson Chandler, Corey Brewer and a first-rounder in exchange for Carmelo Anthony is kind of a disaster."

Only IF Carmelo was open to signing with the Nets. That deal wasn't getting done without an extension, so that couldn't be the Nuggets "best offer" if Melo never gave the OK.

I would take the Dea with the Rockets for Kevin Martin. The 2 first round picks plus th expiring contract of either Battier or Jeffries. You have a Superstar. Shouldn't you get a superstar in return. That Martin is such an effecient scorer and a very good 2 guard. If you have to leverage Houston in taking JR Smith, you can do that too.Brooks is another one you can ask for. What is it against the west not trading with west.Get the possible deal.
