as a celtics fan I love what is happening to the lakers. one question though,what happens if somebody besides kobe does step up and tries to take charge of games?does kobe approve or does he pout and stop taking shots like he has before when he is not the center of attention?what if said player takes the last shot and misses?will kobe and fans be happy with that? I suspect that he along with the fans would be furious so I think they are stuck with what they have and I for one hope they continue playing like they did in Jan.

I also agree. However, other than Kobe, this team does not seem to have the ability or the “Killer” instinct to put other teams away. Right now this team will make the playoff’s but I doubt they will get past San Antonio let alone either the Celtic’s or the Heat unless they quit relying on Kobe so much and others start contributing regularly. Difficult when Kobe is the only consistent Laker this year.

agree. great article. people are hitting the panic button way too quick. phil jackson has rallied this team to perform at the right time, the playoffs…he can do it again. if the playoffs were to start today, we would be the #2 seed…the difference being an extra home game for the spurs (who look great ) compared to last year. really…that’s not that bad. stay the course…aftera ll, they are the 2 time defending champs. isn’t that proof enough this team has the moxie to get it done? you bet your sweet 3-peat arse it does!
