This is Rafael Arujao breaking a backboard

Jan 14, 2011, 6:54 PM EDT

Remember Rafael Arujao? #8 overall pick in 2004, averaged 2.8 points and 2.8 rebounds on 40.5% shooting, completely washed out of the NBA without ever really making a rotation? It’s okay if you don’t. Anyways, he’s currently playing for Brazil in the FIBA Americas tournament, and he is destroying backboards. Courtesy of Deadspin, witness the power of Rafael Arujao’s destructive fury:

If that doesn’t put you in a good mood for the weekend, I don’t know what will.

I thought he was going to get denied by the rim…lol

As a Raptor fan, I still feel like crying when I think of Rafa. He was so bad it was disgusting. Just nowhere near an NBA caliber player. Couldn’t shoot, pass, dribble. Had below average coordination, no soft touch, very nonathletic, and had poor size for a power forward.
Combine all those physical attributes with the fact that he has zero basketball IQ, and what do you get? A truly horrible decision by the Raptors organization. What were they thinking???
