That is a pretty stupid comment. Denver told NJ to shut up or they would trade Melo to NY and what happened? The wait period made Melo have second thoughts about NJ. Amare reached out to Melo and the Knicks start to put together a trade. Now all of a sudden the Nets/Nuggets trade has heated up again despite Denver’s hurt feelings and the obvious fact that rumors of recent negotiations probably came in part from NJ. The obvious conclusion is that no other team can give Denver what NJ has so if they want to get the most value Denver had better be the ones to shut up and play nice. If Denver told Melo to shut up, they risk angering him to the point of saying he would only go to the Knicks

Excellent point! In fact, I would think that the owner’s are going to fight raising the cap after this past off-season. The owners are going to want to protect themselves and thier franchise’s from being extremely devalued by players creating contraction on thier own.

I’m sick of this so-called “story”. Denver already told NJ to STFU about things, they need to tell Mr. Vasquez the same thing. And if he decides to veto any trade, rip that damn extension up and hand it to him.

Can we really say the Nets won’t have cap room for Dwight/CP3? I mean we don’t even know what the new cap is going to be? We don’t even know the value of the new “max contracts”.
