I watched as much of the Lakers 55 point slaughter of the Cav's last night as I could . It was embarrassing and boring . The Lakers are good , but not exciting . Give me a Clipper game and Blake Griffin anytime . People better start collecting Blake memorabilia real soon because this guy , if he stays healthy , is going to change people's minds about who was the " greatest .
Kevin Durant is good , but plays stiff. Melo has a " it's all me " attitude . Dwight Howard is at his highest potential physically . LeBron james is the best in basketball right now . Kobe is playing okay , but he's not Lebron .
By the way , I propose that Blake Griffin and Kevin Love start the All-Star game . They both deserve it . Dirk Nowitski and Durant to the reserves .

Noone's arguing that Blake is still mostly potential, and has a long way to reach that potential. But hell, for a first year player who has an enormous amount of potential over what he is already, he is already on of the best rebounders in the NBA, and is top-3 among double double players.

You mention Dwight Howard - Dwight was nowhere near as good in his rookie year. DH had 12ppg and 10rbg in his rookie year. This year he is averaging 21 and 13 - probably his best year yet when combining points and boards (he had better boarding seasons though).

What's Blake averaging? How about 21.8 ppg and 12.6 rbg in his rookie season! He's already as good as Dwight Howard (minus the defense obviously, but that'll improve no doubt).
Blake also averages 3.3 assists/game, where Dwight never averaged more than 1.9 assists per game (right now, he's averaging 1.2). Dwight Howard is also on a team filled with shooters, so you'd think he'd get more chances for assists, but he's a pedestrian post passer at best.

The only issue is Griffin's health - with his body type, health is always a legitimate concern. But I'd take Griffin over Howard any day. Give him 8 years in the league and Howard-like health, and you could have a player who could average 26 and 15, with 4-5 assists and 1.5 blocks. Let's also not forget a real jump shot.

Leearmon, for the record, Blake is a good passer. He is very patient in the post and makes smart passes out of the double team. He has a good basketball IQ. He's still raw, but this isn't JaVale McGee with the million dollar body and the five cent head here. Griffin gets it.

Blake Griffin is the best player in the NBA to watch right now hands down. Sure some guys can outscore him and out rebound him. Sure some people FG percentage is higher than him. But who cares about stats? This guy is fun to watch no matter who your favorite team is. You don't have to worry about them taking your teams playoff seed either.

I wish this trade had gone thru, I would of creamed myself!

bigtrav425 ,

He's not Lebron James or Michael Jordan with dribble penetration and finesse . He's more like Superman , flying like a trapize artist towards the hoop . He's 6'10 and flys like a superhero and he has Shaq's strength to boot. He is the most exciting player to come into the league since LeBron , plus as a big man no one can compare in the league right now . His vertical , I believe is close to four feet . Think about it .

I don't know if its really that funny. Yes Blake is HUGE draw at the Box office, and he has worlds of potential.. but thats just it, potential. His athleticism is scary, but its not earth shaking like Dwight's or Lebron's were when they both entered the game. Blake contributes but you would still like to see him block shots more, work on a baby hook, add a drop step to his game, learn how to pass and make teammates better. Again it doesn't hurt Denver for asking, And its waaaaaay too premature to compare Blake to Durant. I know its fun to watch him play and all, but on a team FILLED with talent (yes the Clips have a tremendous amount of talent on that roster) they are still only 12-24 6th worst record in the league. Blake potentially could be one of the top 5 players in the NBA, but not yet, and to make him untradeable at this point is asinine. I wouldn't trade him for Melo, but if the offer was right you would have to listen. Let's not forget one of these players already has an injury history, and still plays the game with reckless abandon, while the other one doesn't.
