I've been saying this for months now. Carmelo holds all of the power. Why would he want to go to Charlotte? After asking yourself that question, then ask, "why would he want to go to New Jersey?" Charlotte is much better off right now than Jersey. Yes the Nets are moving in two years, but where are they moving in the ranks of the NBA? If they do a deal for Melo, most likely they would give up, Picks, cap flexibility and Favors/Harris. So what's left for Melo once he arrives? A bad team who if everything goes well, will meet either the Celtics or Heat in the first round of the playoffs. Good luck with that. Why New Jersey didnt ship off Lopez when they had the chance is beyond me. As a Knick fan Lopez this season reminds me alot of Eddy Curry back in 04-05. A great scoring big man, who does very little else. Lopez is a much better shot blocker than Eddy even in his dreams, but both have difficulties passing out of the double team, and neither is much of a rebounder. Lopez is a good scoring option on one of the worst teams in the league, so ofcourse the Nets deem him "untouchable" even with a shot of landing them an even better scorer and a much bigger draw at the box office.
