Happy New Year! Everyone’s injured.

It’s a fresh and bright new year, as 2011 is welcomed in. And with the coming of the new year, we celebrate the NBA in true fashion: by telling you the myriad number of people who are out with injuries.

Gerald Wallace left practice Sunday after aggravating a bone bruise in his left ankle.

Andre Iguodala is out with Achilles tendinitis for several weeks.

Luc Richard Mbah a Moute suffered a concussion and is day-to-day.

Anderson Varejao broke his face. His face. He’s only going to miss a few games, but the dude broke his face.

Paul Pierce left the game against the Raptors Sunday with a tweaked ankle. He should be fine, since the Celtics don’t really have any injury issues. (Pause.)

Mehmet Okur is waiting on an MRI on his back.

Caron Butler probably has a patellar tendon tear, but we won’t know for sure until Monday.

Al Harrington has a bum thumb.

Seriously, people. Stop getting injured! That’s an order! Or something.

    Varejao needs to get healthy so the Cavs can officially start rebuilding. We all know the Knicks, Bulls, or other Eastern contender other than the Heat will be making a move for him.
