Shaquille O’Neal, classical music conductor.

You can add that to the list that includes NBA center, All-Star, rapper, policeman and statue. As you can see from the video below (via the Boston Pops) Shaq did quite well conducting the holiday standard “Sleigh Ride” with the Pops. Because the orchestra really needed a conductor on this one. They couldn’t have done this song with their eyes closed. No way.

Pretty classic stuff from Shaq.

It is absolutely wonderful to see a multitalented man like Shaq doing something like this. It is also refreshing to see him flourish in the cultural mecca of Boston. Perhaps he will give up his dream of running for sheriff in Florida when he retires and move up to Boston run for senate.
If anyone happens to see Shaq let him know there is nothing like conducting the Boston Pops at Tanglewood on a summer night surrounded by the majestic mountains of the Berkshires.

That’s why Shaq will always have a job in the NBA, he’s worth his considerable weight in marketing.
