let me know when somebody playing basketball today does not travel!I mean I know I am old but the stuff they get away with today is just sad. when I was young we were taught that once you leave your feet you either shoot or pass, now they jump up come back down&dribble to the basket stop and take steps to make the lay up or dunk. did jordan take off from the free throw line and come back down then do his dunk?

The camera angle of the first replay hides his final dribble behind the defenders' body, so it looks like he took an extra step. If you look closely at the final replay camera angle from in front of the basket, it is clear that he got that final dribble in and simply did a pro hop back, planted his two feet simultaneously and launched it. The ref had a perfect angle to see his footwork, standing behind where Ginobili shot from.

That's called a pro hop my friend. He still traveled because he took individual steps before planting again and elevating. Shaq made a killing on that move but he did it a lot better.
