The Repeat World Champion Lakers look good with Bynum and Walton injured, just going to get better when Bynum returns to beef up the frontline. Steve Blake fits in so much better than Jordan Farmar did, no idiotic hotdogging just solid basketball play. Matt Barnes is fitting in great as Kobe's backup. The Lakers are the team to beat because they have Kobe Bryant, the greatest basketball player in the world and the Repeat World Champion Lakers will Threepeat next June against the Ancient Celtics.

Granted, Orlando was on the second of a back-to-back and looked sluggish but you get up to play Miami. They didn't. We all expect Orlando to be a pretty good team this year, but as far as Power Rankings RIGHT NOW go, you have to put New Orleans ahead of them.

New Orleans has victories over San Antonio, Denver, and Milwaukee (all good teams).
Orlando has won one game and took a 26 pt drubbing at the hands of the Heat.

How is Orlando higher?

A more accurate Power Ranking that doesn't over-value the Hawks' terribly close wins over terrible/injured teams (and that realizes the Hornets beat better teams than almost everyone listed from 1 to 7 above):
