Doc Rivers talks Celtics locker room fight. Was Von Wafer the leak?

Boston is not a locker room with a lot of leaks. Their entire team identity is built on team unity, they don’t talk about each other behind their backs. The front office doesn’t talk about details much, as you can tell from the Doc Rivers clip above — Delonte West and Von Wafer got in a fight in the locker room, but he’s not talking about it much.

Which leads to the question: Who did? Who leaked to Hoopsworld the original report that included the Celtics thinking about cutting him loose?

How about Wafer? The Boston Herald is reporting and there is some logic to it. When West returns from his 10-game suspension Wafer will fall down the depth chart. And Wafer is not getting on the court as it is (10 minutes total through three games). So West out of the way helps his cause.

Except it’s not happening. Boston is counting on West to give them more quality backcourt depth and he is going nowhere. And Wafer — who has not been the most popular guy in the locker room in previous stops, to put it mildly — is not making friends in a veteran and powerful locker room.
