Way to go, Mahoney! Fat Van Gundy stated last week that Dwight Howard worked with Hakeem all of TWO DAYS!

Wow, I'm sure that's going to help Howard out with his infantile post game.

Good reporting!

This is all that was missing from Howard's game. It's been my only gripe on him since he came into the league. Howard has been a dominant player based primarily on his physical gifts. Adding different moves and giving defenders more places on the court to worry about him could make him one of the best centers to ever play the game. He's longer and more powerful than Hakeem ever was but probably just as quick.
Shaq was a dominant player and will eventually be in the HOF but he never put the effort into really expanding his game to include as many "looks" at the basket. Instead he chose to bulk up and break backboards. That was fun too and it worked for him but Howard could be something else entirely. He could be the hybrid (Power/Skill) center this league has never seen in the modern age.
Dream worked with Yao a few years back and he was able to add a few important things to his game but they just aren't the same players. Howard more closely resembles the Dream's playing style because of his athleticism and aggressive scorer's mentality. You can't teach a guy to want to rip the rim off the backboard.
Howard now has the tools to help the Magic win those close playoff games when you absolutely must score the ball on a last minute possession. Having that is an invaluable asset in post-season play. Very few teams have the luxury of throwing the ball in to their big guys for a high-percentage, in-the-paint scoring opportunity in a half-court posession. Very scary with the shooters he has on that team now.
Clearly Orlando's biggest acquisition this off-season was a summer camp with Dream.
