Jannero Pargo has signed a one-year deal with the New Orleans Hornets, according to Marc Spears of Yahoo.

Pargo is a passable backup. There are better guys out there — certainly better shooters — but Pargo will make a few plays and a few buckets.

If you’re thinking, “didn’t Pargo sign with Golden State a couple months ago?” the answer is almost. The two sides reached a verbal agreement, but the Warriors new ownership nixed the deal before it could be finalized.

So instead of playing on a clam chowder bay he moves to an ettouffee bay.

Nice to have Pargo back in New Orleans, where he played his best basketball as Chris Paul’s back-up. Last season, he signed with the Bulls coming back over from Europe. I thougt he would be the primary back-up to Derrick Rose. He didn’t play much and when he got in, he shot poorly and didn’t play well. Now he’s back in New Orleans where lots of changes has been made. Pargo will provide scoring, 3 point shooting and tough defense off the bench. This team might make the playoffs.

The Hornets better start thinking long-term about their PG situation because this offseason isn’t turning out to be the best for NO. Check out how all of the Southwest Division teams’ summers grade out.
