Andray Blatche will be ready for Wizards training camp, Sean Marks will be there too

Thumbnail image for blatche_game.jpgYears of potential exploded into a couple very productive months last season for Andray Blatche. Throw in rookie top pick John Wall and an offense that will get out and run, and you may have something fun and pretty good in Washington next season.

If Blatche is healthy. He had foot surgery in June and was expected to be not doing much for three months.

But according to Michael Lee at the Washington Post, Blatche said he will be ready to go when camp opens at the end of the month. Blatche has been riding the bike and working out on the elliptical, but has not been cleared to play basketball yet. However he should be back by the start of training camp.

There he will be met by journeyman center Sean Marks, who has been invited to camp, according to the same Post report. Marks is a 10-year NBA veteran who has never made a big splash, never averaged more than 3 points per game. He would have a make-good deal and have to earn his way on to the team.

Rounding out the Wizards camp offers are Cartier Martin and maybe Lester Hudson.

I wish Sean Marks, Cartier Martin and Lester Hudson the best. Each of them can help Washington/any other team in the league. Sean Marks is a good locker room guy and a positive guy to have. He’s a veteran who has played on winning teams like San Antonio, Phoenix and New Orleans. Skill-wise he can provide good shooting touch, energy, and hustle. He’s also an underrated athlete and a decent rebounder. Cartier is a great shooter who can light it up and get hot from beyond the arc. He’ll be a good pickup because Washington needs another shooter and he fit’s that role. Lester Hudson can help as well. He’s a 6-3 combo guard who can really score the ball. He’s strong a is a pretty good shooter. He can knock down shots and get to the basket. He’s also a tough defender. He kind of plays like Flip Murray. He would also be a good pickup. In closing, good luck to all 3 players and hopefully they’ll stick some where.
