Please Miami, make Damp your starting center! The fact that he’s better than all the other Miami centers just shows you how AWFUL that position is for them (of course, they’ve got those other three that are pretty good).
There’s a reason Shaq called him “Erica” Dampier…

Damp doesn’t play defense, though. He’s soft. Nowitzki + Dampier = layup drill. Actually, add any non-consistent shot blocking PF + Dampier and the sum is the same.
We suffered through Dampier’s spare play for 2-3 years too long here in Dallas. The guy couldn’t even come close to careering in a “contract year”. He’s one of the nicest guys around, but a complete mental midget on the court.

Dampier is a good defensive center (not great), and he’d set very good picks for D-Wade and LBJ to come off of. He’s offensively challenged (to put it nicely), but the Heat don’t need offense with the lineup they will have.

Nene is as injury prone as Martin is, and he fails every year in the playoffs. All I want is someone who can put thier hands in the air and play defense. Nene does not fit the defensive picture at all… and the fact that we picked up a scoring PF in Harrington over a tall defensive center blows my mind. I just want the Nuggets to pick up someone who can get rebounds, and blocks.

Jordan is hooking Riley up. Conspiracy or not.
Can Dampier finacially take the risk this season? If he can, there is no question that he should take less money to compete for the title. Dampier is not a superstar and if he wants to have his skills showcased all season long for all hoops fans(from diehards to somone who only recently learned of the NBA because of the decision) than this is the team he needs take his talents to.

Why not send him off to Denver? We need a solid center. Trade them J.R Smith and Nene?
When Martin and Birdman are healthy you look at Dampier and Harrington too… thats called a big front court.

Agree with Jason. Dude hasn’t been waived yet nor has the team given any indication that they will waive him, and you have him eating lobster tails with Pat Riley on Miami on a recruiting trip.
