Knicks fans are going to love them some Ronny Turiaf

rturiaf.jpgIt’s hard not to love Ronny Turiaf because he loves the game.

It was almost taken away from him, and now he plays with the attitude fans want to see — he goes hard every night, and he cheers like mad from the sideline. He dances. He cares.

And he wants the Knicks to win. Not wants but will forcefully insist, as he told SLAM magazine.

“We’re going to play team basketball. We are going to be playing together and everybody moving in the same direction. We are all here to win basketball games–not to lose. That’s something that people need to understand is that we will do whatever it takes, whatever we have to do to make that happen. I have talked to plenty of guys on the team already. I was on vacation with Gallo [Danillo Gallinari]. I have been working out with Stoudamire every day. I have worked out with Toney Douglas. I have talked to Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton. And of course my two partners from Golden State Azubuike and Randy [Anthony Randolph]. So I’ve been in contact with a lot of those guys and I think they are excited and there is one key word: winning.”

We’re not kidding, Knicks fans are going to love this guy.

I love this guy and so will the Knick fans, I have continued to follow Ronny since he left the Lakers. He didn’t get a lot of time on the floor while he was with the Lakers but after heart surgery right after he was drafted Ronny made the most of any minutes he was given. He will never be a star but he is a big body who works hard on defense and makes those on the team work harder too. Good for him and good for the Knicks.

I have very much enjoyed watching Ronny’s efforts on the BB’court beginning with his time with the Zags, Lakers, and the Warriors. He gives 100% all the time he is on the court. Ronny simply loves every day he is alive and so do we fans who have had the pleasure to follow his game. Only sorry we here in SOCA won’t have the opportunity to follow his exploits on the court now that he is with the Knicks. Hope you get the playing time that you deserve, Ronny.
