King LeBron knows who's been bad or good, so be good for goodness sake

Aug 11, 2010, 8:35 AM EDT

ljames_points.jpgEver since his announcement that he was taking his talents to South Beach, LeBron James has taken a lot of criticism.

And he’s been making a list and checking it twice, of who has been naughty and nice, as he announced on his twitter account.

Don’t think for one min that I haven’t been taking mental notes of everyone taking shots at me this summer. And I mean everyone!

That, predictably, led to more backlash on twitter, where plenty of people laughed at the immaturity of the comment, some mocked him for trying to be an Internet bully, while others asking if he had taken “mental notes” on his shortcomings with the Cavaliers. The reaction was far more negative than positive afterward online.

ESPN’s Arash Markazi, in his pulled piece on hanging with LeBron for a night that the network pulled, said that LeBron seemed more like a child wrapped in a man’s body. The more we hear from him, the more that sounds like the truth. LeBron is not malicious or mean spirited, just immature. Not someone who takes into consideration the reaction to what he does or says, but rather just does it.

That twitter announcement just seems to be the latest step along those lines.

Oops. Now I’ve probably been taken note of, too.

Never heard of Lebron until he changed teams, yet you feel obligated to degrade him? I pity you and your entire white trash klan of kooters.

Whatever. How does this change anyone’s opinion of him?

This is simple, Kobe stayed in L.A and put up with all the BS
that people were saying about him but He came up on top by winning
TWO CHAMPIONS and That’s what I call a real KING. Lebron should have had stay in Cle, even if never won a ring but at least he was
loyal to himself and had the balls to win it on his own terms. Now
he looks like a joke and I predict he would end his career with
    other then Miami.

I understand why people don’t like him personally, but he is still the most MVP-worthy player in the year. Here’s an anlysis.

LeBron owes CLE fans NADA!!!! Owes their organization NADA!!! Same for us. I don’t owe my employer loyalty if I plan to switch jobs. That whole two week notice BS is outdated. When you’re fired, do you get two weeks? Nope, you get your ass hustled out by security. I’m surprised James didn’t walk out on the ESPN special wearing a Heat jersey and shooting two middle fingers in the air. He isn’t even from CLE! CLE needs to get over it and get back to being an irrelevant sports town like they have been for decades. These three guys takes LESS money – in an era of the money hungry athlete – and all three get blasted for it? Go figure. What a messed up country this is. Who knows what they will do this season or beyond. They will succeed or fail, same as all the other teams. I do think the Lakers are a bit worried, and if both teams meet in the Finals, it will be a hell of a series.

Lebron ruined his legacy by joining the Heat. He may win 10 championships in a row with them but after he is gone and retired people will always say he needed Dwade the third best player in the NBA and Bosh the second best player. He couldve built his own empire but instead he just joined one. He is a great player and the Heat are going win a championship at some point but this whole “decision” has ruined his legacy and f-ed up the NBA as far as competition goes. And of course people who aren’t fans of the 3 NBA teams that have a chance at a title are hating, cuz the other 27 teams suck ass. Im just gonna stick to College Bball this year cuz the NBA is lopsided. Good Luck with the lock out in 2011!

“ENOUGH already. Let’s all check back in April 2011 and see if Wade’s team has learned how to play as a team.”
Cant. I need my NBA Fix year-round. Probably everyone else here also, which is probably why we are all reading and commenting on this article in the NBA offseason.

Hey haters, isn’t Nike’s slogan “Just do It”. Lebron’s just following his idols way, he’s not immature. He’s just does it, now whats wrong with that.

  12. Heat overrated - Aug 11, 2010 at 2:27 PM

Did David Stern institute a new rule that says the Heat are allowed to play with three basketballs on offense? None of the big three play well “off the ball” and all of the big three need the ball to be effective. LBJ is the only one of them that is known for his passing ability (this coming from a “Cleveland hater”). If you were coaching against the Heat wouldn’t you just tell your players to sag off everyone except Miller and force D Wade, LBJ, and to a lesser extent, Bosh to become jump shooters? I say lets play the games and see how it turns out. The Cavs had the best record in the league the last two years. LBJ didn’t do that on his own.

Hey Lebron, the plaque for the alternates is down in the ladies’ room.

If all his fans are ignorant, uneducated people like you, then there is no wonder his brand is in the crapper. Reading your post made me lose 10 IQ points, and wasted 10 seconds of my time trying to deciper your grammatical nightmare of a post. Please go back and lose yourself in little Cuba…or SOUF beach or whatever they want to call it today. Or better yet – go back to an English class and learn to write without soudnign retarded.

I am surprised at all of the hate…..This is not the first time elite players have chased a championship. Karl Malone, Gary Payton etc..I just think Lebron had too much bagagge in Cleveland, espcially if the reported story of his mom sleeping with a team mate. Maybe a change of scenery was needed, we all know that it was not for the money!
    just me thinking out loud

Well said,I have to agree with you and I am a Celtic fan.

The Laker’s are Back to Back Champions of the NBA. Not Miami, Cleveland, or Boston. Until the Three Amigo’s win anything. it’s all talk. And seems like Lebron has talked enough to at least earn him a plastic replica NBA Ring. So start chanting Beat-LA once again.

  19. MLC - Aug 11, 2010 at 3:24 PM

Last I saw the HEAT don’t have nothing in the middle!!!
Boston and their gang of thugs now are going to knock the King &
his buddies on their ASS!! so many times in the playoffs, and
Dwight & Orlando – who’s gonna guard him??
    Lakers in a 3-peat!!!

  20. DK Anderson - Aug 11, 2010 at 3:24 PM

Yes, there are different standards for a guy with a fist full of championship rings than for a guy with none. This surprises you?

  21. Bill-Sonora - Aug 11, 2010 at 3:25 PM

“I continue to live here and believe it or not, there are a lot of people that no longer support the Lakers because of what kobe use to be.”
WHO?!? I dont know ANYONE here in L.A. who agrees with what you just said. And, have you seen ALL the Lakers’ victory parades? Who doesnt support the Lakers, and least of all because of Kobe?
Please dont compare Kobe and Lebron. Yes, at one point Kobe was upset at his team not making the right moves to be competetive but he SPOKE UP about it. He didnt JUMP SHIP without even letting ownership know beforehand like Lebron “Tommy Gun” James! I respect LBJ’s decision but its HOW he did it. Please dont compare the 2 since LBJ didnt even have the decency to let ownership know.
