UPDATE 7:13 PM: According to MacMahon’s extended report, Beaubois has broken his fifth metatarsal in his left foot, and could potentially miss three months as he may require surgery. No specific timetable will be set for Beaubois until team officials can better determine the specifics of his injury.

“Donnie Nelson confirms French newspaper’s report that Roddy Beaubois broke his foot.”

This one is a bummer. Beaubois wasn’t highly touted coming into the draft, but his combination of length, speed, explosiveness, and a developing outside stroke made him one of the most intriguing rookies in the league last season.

Beaubois had a tough summer league, but most fans still figured that he would play a major role for the Mavericks both next season and in the years to come. Hopefully Beaubois can make a speedy and fully recovery from this injury, and pick up where he left off last season when he does.
