Your season opener: Miami at Boston. On Christmas Miami will be in L.A.

Thumbnail image for wade_bosh_james_highfive.jpgHow about this for your Oct. 26 season opener: The old big three vs. the new big three. Miami at Boston.

That’s what’s happening according to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe. It’s a matchup of the new favorites against a team that has had several players say Miami should not automatically be the favorite.

On Christmas, the Heat will travel to Los Angeles to take on the Lakers in the marque game of the day. That according to friend-of-the-blog Ira Winderman, who has seen the Heat’s early schedule and confirmed the Boston opener.

After Boston, tthe Heat will then play the Sixers on the road on Wednesday, Oct. 27. They will open the season at home against Orlando on Oct. 29.

That contradicts an earlier report that the Heat would be in Orlando to open the new Amway Center Oct. 28.

Not an easy way to start the season for Miami. And one that will test
their one perceived weakness on paper — the ability to defend big men
and the rim. Boston has a long front line with Jermaine O’Neal at the
heart (Kendrick Perkins will still be recovering from his knee injury, but O’Neal is the better offensive player), while Orlando has Dwight Howard in the paint.

We also know that joining the Lakers and Heat on Christmas Day will be the Bulls and the Knicks. Remember there were five Christmas Day games last season.

The opening week games and the Christmas games will be officially revealed on an NBATV show at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The Heat will miss the playoffs, they simply are not that good.

The Heat will make history and go undefeated in the regular season then they will win it all against the Lakers. The Lakers have a lot to fear against this Heat team (anyone who thinks otherwise is not a very good student of the game), and Phil Jackson knows it all too well. He was the beneficiary of the great Jordan-Pippen duo. Now, he must apply his considerable coaching skills to defend against this incredible pairing – miraculously brought together by Mr. Jackson’s old nemesis, Pat Riley. The irony!

You act like Bynum is some type of superstar. he is just big and thats it. if he aint hurt he sittin the bench cus he exhausted so dont even go there. Fisher is trash and cant guard anybody i.e(westbrook, rhondo, deron williams) thats why kobe guarded them in the playoffs. Odom shows up every once in a while when he feels like it. artest has D ill give u that but his offense is poor and his D isnt better than lebrons offense. then that leaves 2 even matched matchup, kobe-wade, bosh-gasol. The only decent bench players u have is odom and barnes and they play the same position.. The Lakers are good, dont get me wrong but the advantage lies in the youth and ahtleticism in the Heat. while the Lakers are having surgery and getting hurt the Heat will still be fresh and pushin thru everyone! Go heat!

undefeated if u know the game as much as u think u do u would never make such a comment. The lakers have to fear the heat lol. The lakers have 2 in a row they have no team to fear. their team has proven to win. Heat havent won yet, not saying they wont win the title together, they might win it someday when kobe retires. u must of not payed attention as a student in baskeball class. were u the water custodian.

bynum no superstar but a big body who can ball up big z any day of the week with a bad knee. u have good points but no matter what u say its never gonna take the lakers championships. ur talking about the laker bench like miami has a bench. whos on miamis bench refresh my memory please. i just dont know who else they have on that team. its a team sport u seem like a smart dude, but where is the team. lakers have a full squad bench players who miami wish they had starting. miami is calling guys like penny hardaway to make a comeback and marbury thats pothetic.

You are a moron, anyone who is predicting a tema that has not won yet is a moron = All HEAT FANS ARE MORONS.

The only reason mike miller went to miami and not is la is because in la he would of played the roll he knows best the bench.

those of you who say wade-lebron-bosh haven’t won anything forget the 2008 olympics, fools. these three are going to do some stomping come october. their only real competition is the lakers, but even a team as stacked as the lakers cannot compete with three superstars such as these in their prime.

  11. jaided - Aug 3, 2010 at 8:53 PM

“this guy” is all i have to say to u jason. u make no point but to point out how dumb miami fans can be.TOOLS. Go dance some reggaeton jason.

Dang you people really need some education. Talking about the Olympics when the game is COMPLETELY different and they had all the best players of the NBA playing at that time. And last time I checked in the playoffs what most people spoke of was how nobody could matchup with the height of the Lakers. Talkin’ bout “undefeated in the regular season”… just some straight atrocity going on in these blogs… how about you go watch a couple of games read some intelligent basketball blogs, that don’t involve all the “elite” teams and mute the games cause those “pundits” really sometimes spew the crap that’s coming out from here.

    NICE!

  14. Bill-Sonora - Aug 10, 2010 at 3:33 PM

And how quickly YOU forget that the LAKERS ARE THE NBA CHAMPIONS!

  15. Darksoul - Sep 28, 2010 at 8:09 PM

    you sir are an idiot
in your little BS scenario with lebron passing the ball and kobe stealing it and winning
ummm yeah it’d be versus miami first off
second off, i’m pretty sure you and i both know lebron will pull the trigger
Kobe hustle back on defense? i can’t really think of a play where he tried to stop a fastbreak lol
