Brown is the better defender and he speed and leaping ability are unmatched on the Lakers. Sasha isn’t going to get any better, Brown will. But the real bottom line is Buss can have Brown, Ebanks, Stawberry, and Character for the same price as Sasha. A guy who is going to play 8 minutes a game behind Kobe and three promising rooks to develop for the same price as the forth guard is the right decision all the way around.

this is purely stupid. did Phil or Jerry try to trade or sit Lamar Odom, fisher, Kobe, Bynum, Luke, etc. for the bone head plays they did or the bad games they had, Hell No!! Why all this fuss for Brown, they should have sent him packing with Farmar, he can’t defemd, shoot, or pass consistently. The only thing he does consistently is turn the ball over. Sasha is a far better player than Brown, if Phil would give him the same opportunity he gives others for their mistakes. What Phil should concentrate on is how to better use the players he has and quit living by the triangle only and learn how to get players into the paint and be more effective mid-range shooters. So quit blaming all your problems on Sasha and give him more confidence by using him more !!!!

I understand that he hasn’t earned his salary these past two seasons, and that the Lakers would like to trim payroll, but I prefer Sasha to Shannon. Sasha is a far Bette defender, and much better shooter when he’s on. I think his performance in the playoffs was a step in the right direction towards getting his game back. He dies stupid things, but he does thing Shannon can’t or won’t. Namely, pass into the post and fight through screens. He fits better. Only one year left on his deal. Is it That crucial to move him now?
