I like the dude, but he has way too many turnovers for a PG (14 compared to only 8 assists in summer league). I hope he makes it, but he's yet to show that he can bring more than a one-dimensional game of driving to the hoop to the league. I expand on this in the comments section of this post:

FYI: DraftExpress says Lin made 60% of his 2-pt FGs last season. Sounds like he can finish fine at the rim.

"...he can still be cut during training camp or at any time in the first few months of the season."
I mean, isn't basically that true of any rookie? Even a first-rounder? I doubt they give a guy a multi-year deal with guaranteed money unless they're 100% he's going to be on the opening day roster and 99% sure he's going to stay there for at least one season.
Also, Lin is one of the best finishers at the rim amongst all college guards (over 50% FG in his last two years). He even shot 54% during summer league (John Wall shot 38%). Besides his jumper (which every rook needs to work on), Lin needs to cut down his turnovers. He has great court vision, but his passes come in too hot sometimes.

How many opportunities do you get in life at a guaranteed $250,000 check no matter what happens? We'll all be rooting for Lin, but he might never make it. The half guaranteed deal helps his chances of making the team though, from this point forward the warriors will choose from paying 250,000 to Lin for the rest of the year or 500,000 to someone else. This is a good shot for him to get in the D-league on the Warriors dime, develop his game even more and look at a bigger payday in 2012.

Good for him. Playing at home is great. But I would have tried to spend 2 years learning the game in practice from Kobe. That would have been priceless. How opportunities do you get in life like that?
