Agree with everything you said. Celtics fans like to call people bandwagon but they couldn’t even fill up their arena nightly. i remember i went to a Celtics game before the big 3 came and it was empty. even my friends who were Celtics “fans” were given free tickets but refused to go. every since their big 3 now you see all thses “fans”. where were they before? smh

its funny how people like to talk about bandwagon fans. the only fans who i can say where there for their teams losing where the Lakers. now on to this “bandwagon” topic. its funny to me because the Celtics before 2007-2008 were(still are) the most successful franchise in NBA history yet they couldn’t sell out that TD garden nightly. it wasn’t until the big 3 came thats when people started to recognize the Celtics again. atleast with the Lakers they had that losing period in the last decade 2004-2007 but they still packed staples center. the TD garden was empty and now you see a whole bunch of Celtic fans coming out the woodwork. im not even a laker fan (basketball fan) but to hear people talk about bandwagon when their specific team has alot of them baffles me. bandwagon fans are everywhere. they are in the best sports town and they are in the worst sports town.

Ray Allen has every right to talk. His team has proven that they are good. Yeah they are old and will be declining, but they have still proven they were the best and pretty close to the best again. So far the heat have proven nothing, no games played yet. Yeah the heat will be good if nothing bad happens. (hey what if lebron walks in on wade screwing his mama too and snaps this time kills wade and lebron goes to jail, good luck with just bosh lol) all jokes aside, the heat will do really well, I think the main problem is that lebron ran to his daddy wade with his tail between his legs because he doesn’t want to put forth the effort to win without other stars. He could have gone anywhere, somewhere with good roll players maybe another star and any championship he won would have been legit. Now he has completely ruined his legacy. Jordan stayed with the bulls, kobe stayed with the lakers after shaq left. Lebron ran to a proven winner in wade. Infact he ran to wade following another really good player in bosh. That is the main problem, lebron is not the king everyone expected him to be, but a sad little princess who wasn’t winning so ran to a real king to help him get a ring. Oh and miami won’t be the reason for selling out games in my home town. We have sold out over 100 consecutive games despite major injuries to most of our team, plus we hold the all time record of 814 consecutive sold out games from 77 to 95. It’s called real basketball fans, not bandwagon bitches who are all excited about their new team.

As a Miami fan I think we should be concerned with every team in the east and not take any of them lightly. That being said, I am very confident this team is more than a match for Boston. D. Wade practically played Boston by himself and they had to double team him the whole series to stop the upset from happening. Now you don’t have that option. Now you are going to have 5 good players on the court. 3 of them all stars and two that need constant double team. This is why the Lakers have been so successful, all the others players are good which frees up Kobe to do some damage. Imagine what the Lakers could do with 2 Kobes. Well that is exactly where Miami will be, It may not happen overnight, but we will get there. So to all the haters, hating is for suckaz. If it was your team you would be happy too.

Let’s bear this in mind. When Lebron James came into the league one of the biggest knocks on him was that he had a pass first mentality. That’s exactly what Miami needs him to do, and he is amazing when he does that. He elevates the game of his teammates. The problem is that fame has now gone to his head and he view himself as the “King” (note his twitter name – @kingjames). If he can get back to being the unselfish player he was when he came into the league, I think they will be ok. In the spirit of full disclosure, I am a Laker fan and so naturally I would not pick Miami to beat L.A. next year. Last time I checked we still had the best player in the league, one of the best defenses in the league (especially when it counts in the playoffs), and the best coach in the league. Miami may end up with the best record in the regular season but as last year showed, that means jack!

The Celtics “big three” are like Grandpas! Pierce and Garnett are not the players they once were, and Ray Allen proved he is not even close to clutch. Rondo cannot shoot free throws to save his life, and Perkins is an offensive wimp! The Celtics overachieved in the playoffs, but are about to get a taste of their own medicine, especially against Miami. LeBron and DWade are elite defenders, and Bosch is no slouch. Miami, not the old age home Celtics, is the team to beat in the East. Sorry, Orlando and Chicago: you guys certainly get an honorable mention.

@SPORTSHEROES: Please tell me you weren’t referring to Tony Allen being the better out of the “Allens” and the best off of their bench. I dont know if your from New England like me but, i have seen every game played last season and the seasons before that with Tony Allen there and every time that dude touched the ball i got nervous. He has no handles, he decisions on the court are suspect and this is the same bonehead who blew his knee out after attempting a dunk 30 seconds after the play was dead a few seasons ago. He was only on the team for defensive purposes and many times a streaky player. Dont tell me that Tony Allen is better than the future hall of famer Ray Allen or even Glen Davis off the bench. Better than Scalabrine maybe, but not others. I also find it funny how you can sit there and bag on the Celtics “old team” when they only lost by 4 points in the last game of the finals and a team that shouldnt have made it past the Cavs to boot. Unless your a Lakers fan, then what team do you like that didnt even make it to the Finals? and @ Neal, whats your point? your Lakers with the #1 player in the world barely beat the “old Celtics”. to me, the lakers are paper champions almost like when apollo beat rocky in the first movie. Apollo won by decision but still lost the fight. go back to all of those games and you will see that the Lakers and the REFS beat the C’s. This is what the league wanted for better ratings and more money. and you can call me a boston head and bias but, if Perkins was in that game they might have won by 4 points

DOES ANYONE REMEMBER the HUGE party the Celtics put on for Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett?????? Doesnt anyone remember the hoop-la that went on for days….and days….and days……the interviews, the parties, the autograph parties………THIS ALL HAPPENED….but it was not OVER REPORTED by the media because all of these guys were in the league for years and years. The media is the one to blame for all of the LeBron stuff…if they just would have shut up for the past two years and stop putting a microphone in LeBrons face for two years asking where he was going to go – no one would have cared….(as much) Boston…..had no one – Paul Pierce thats it…..and then they got Ray and Kevin…so WHY IS MIAMI BEING HATED SO MUCH because of who they got. THEY ALL MADE THE DECISION TO GO TO THE HEAT……for less money…..Look at Raja Bell…..could have gone to the Lakers and possibly won a ring…BUT NO – he went for the money! Everyone needs to just CHILL OUT…wait for the season and then if the Heat “choke” – then do all of the TEAM BASHING….but for goodness sake……spit out the sour grapes…..move on……and just let the games begin!!!

The owners and the league themselves created all this hype — all these teams that cut salary and players for three years to get ready for “the class”, the big free agency scenario with Lebron, Wade and Bosh. That they all went to Miami, together… it just irks Chicago, Cleveland, NJ and NY fans to the utmost. Trying to say that Miami will be terrible after this incredible coup is just plain jealousy. Face it: Miami got all three of the “once in a lifetime” free agents, they scored big time. Of course it isn’t automatic for them to win titles now, but they for sure will have a nice team.

I love seeing all these new Heat fans. Probably 70-80% of the Heat’s fans probably didnt go to or watch a Heat game all last season. All bandwagon fans just because they will be good now. With the Celts big three you had a shooter, a scorer, and a legitimate big man. This is good balance of skills.
With the Heat you have a scorer, a scorer, and a small big man scorer. I don’t see any balance here.
One is built around the basics of basketball. Each player fills a cog so you have as many options as possible. The other team is built using 3 scorers with skill sets that don’t greatly differentiate from one another and thus might not compliment each other.
It appears to me that the Heat will have to run a ton. You really can’t fear a half court offense with no big man and no shooter to maintain spacing. I would pack the middle and say shoot it guys, just like other countries did to the poorly balanced US olympic teams that we had going there for a while.

I love hearing from all the haters. First of all, the show the heat put on friday was for the Miami fans, not all you haters out there. Downtown – The Lakers didn’t play like absolute garbage in game 7. They SHOT terribly for much of the game but actually played very well in every other area. The Celtics didn’t GIVE AWAY a 12 point lead. They led by 12 after outplaying (outshooting) the Lakers for 28 minutes, and then the Lakers outplayed them for the last 20 minutes of the game. To both teams credit it was the greatest all out effort I’ve seen from two teams in a very long time. Very worthy of their great and storied rivalry. The Celtics did have a very good chance to win game 7, but that doesn’t mean they should have won. The amount of energy they expended the first 3 quarters left them completely out of gas in the fourth. It was really obvious. That said, I hope the Celtics beat up Miami, but I’m not putting any money on it!

What is so suprising? Most teams dont sell out unless they are really good. Just like the TD Garden was empty before 08 and now the “loyal” fans are always present. Im loving the hate that my team is getting. It will be that much better when we go down the line on the non-believers.
Before 08, Rondo was viewed as a bum and you could say that Perkins underachieved. Rondo is legit, but Perkins is still overrated. Boston’s bench in 08 was nothing to write home about but two years later writers have made them this great supporting cast when they werent. House, Powe, and Posey arent better than Heats bench which is improving. Boston is too old to hang. If Ray wants to talk thats fine. When you are as old as he is you need motivation. For all the talk about how great Boston is, they have won the same amount of championships that Miami has in the past 5 years.

Yea. They could have easily won that game if they didn’t give away the 12 point lead they had. I don’t think you would disagree if I said the Lakers played like absolute garbage for a large portion of that game. The team everyone wrote off took your team to game 7 and almost pulled it off. Not to mention, they clobbered you in 08. The Lakers won, I am not debating that. I’ll give you credit, they played big at the end. I wouldn’t say LA is better than the Celtics at all. They played pretty even most of the series (ID 7 games). LA just got in at the end this time. They won the series, yes. But by a very slim margin. Perk got injured, that’s life. You were without Bynum for the most part. Let’s see how 2011 pans out. Maybe you can catch us in championships, maybe not.

How can you say they are old and worn out if they were in the Finals?
They are the Eastern Champions!
They were in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
I cant believe you think Orlando is better. The Celtics only lost in the Finals because the LAKERS were the better team and the ONLY better team than the Celtics.
