Finding a backup point guard is a taller order… Nate Robinson is an imperfect starter but is the perfect backup for Rondo… especially now that he’s begun to buy in to the Celtics Defense and play at both ends.
Robinson still takes too many chances but it’s a twofer for the Celts given the spark he provides off the bench and the rest he gives to Rondo, ensuring the team is strong down the stretch of a game, and a season.
This would be a BIG pickup for the Celts, and if Robinson plays his cards right, with another quality year under his belt he could showcase himself as more of a complete point guard and parlay that into a starter position somewhere else (people forget he’s only 26)
