tony tony tony, as a basketball fan, the lakers are NOT trying to keep up with the heat as a matter of fact the heat are so desparate tehy had to try and get dfish, they failed, so now they are going out and getting every bargain basement dweller available good luck with that lol, and just an fyi the lakers were going after raja bell before heat signed anyone, so reality check heat are going to be playing catchup with lakers bulls celtics, basically any tema that has a REAL team

New money? I don’t know how to break this to you, but the upcoming season, 2010-2011, will be the highest cap the Heat will ever have. The “Big Three” salary will only go up from here…and let’s not forget about that opt-out that they all have in 2014. No, this team is built for a championship run for the next 3 years.
For the sake of the Knicks-Heat “rivalry”, I do hope that the Knicks are able to bring Carmelo and CP3 or Tony Parker into the fold next year, 2011-2012 season, to make it that much harder for the Eastern Conference winner.

A lot of you fail to realize these moves are based on what’s available this year, with what moneys the Heat have left. I’m a Lakers fan but also a basketball fan , and no mater how far the heat go next season they will have another free agency class next year 2011 (If as reproted there is no lockout) where there will be new money and then see what the heat do as far as bringing in quality players. So to make this as painless as possible for all you haters LA, Boston, Orlando,and any other team watch out this ain’t over.

i heard reggie miller and a.i. want to win a title. miami needs to sign them. the more cancers and old folks they sign the better for boston and orlando.it cracks me up how all of a sudden these over the hill,not so good players are great pick ups because we all know lejerk was able to win with them in cleveland.

Your comments aren’t very nice. Miami doesn’t deserve the class that Zydrunas Ilgauskas brings to the court. He’s loyal, hard working and the Heat doesn’t deserve him.

Honestly, I have always been a HUGE fan of Zydrunas (of all the Cavs players, but especially for him)… he has suffered tragedy personally, but he has always been loyal, worked hard and has been the kind of player any team could ever dream of having which is why it stings a little to see him go to a team like Miami. If he truly feels that’s where he needs to go for his best chance at winning a title, then I, along with every single Cavs fans, wish him the very best.
Thank you so much ZI, for your loyal years, your hard work, and for sticking with us. You will truly be missed and I know I can speak for every Cavs fan when I say we wish you every personal success on your journey. Lastly, thank you for leaving with class, and not feeling the need to screw the fans who have adored you over the years. You are the best!

I hope you and Ilgauskas enjoy being bounced in the Conference semifinals by either the Magic or Celtics..but I’ll be even more pleased if their Round 1 opponent beats them.

Those two games between the Heat and the Lakers should be fairly interesting. I think the Heat will be competitive to say the least. They have to do better than Ilgauskas at center to be champions.

Big Z to the Heat. Big Whoop. I am really liking the Lakers chances at the 3-peat once again. The Heat are a fine hoops squad and they are continually picking the bones of the Cavs… I am beginning to think the Heat are overplaying their hand and may in fact become a bunch of Miami Cavaliers… great regular season followed by the collapse at some point in the playoffs. LeBron is a really talented player but I think he still doesn’t have the right mojo… to win all that is gold. Maybe in a few years. Maybe.

All logic seems to indicate that the Heat are over the cliff desperate in trying to add any type of size to their their Threego roster. Big Z will be lucky if his worn out body last the whole season, let alone the playoffs. You Moron’s from South Beach wanna be Hollywood, fail to realize that big Z at this point in his career is more stiff than a Russian Drink. Him and Howard would have been a great addition 10 years ago. Comedy! I can all ready see 3 players flying to the hoop and Big Z just couching to their basket. The Lakers are laughing at your size desperation search. They know that if you guys make it out of the East, is going to be one of the easiest 3peat championship. We all know the Chris Bosh is going to take a pounding during the whole season and won’t cut it as a center. Even Orlando is chomping at the bit, Big Z or Bosh against Superman, child please. The Celtics are gonna be knocking heads off trying to regain their Cahones, and you think your Heat will come out ahead? Like a said, Lakers will be representing the West, if you make it out of the East, you will take a pounding by Gasol and Bynum, so hard that it will make Riley break your team up in search for a real Center.

In Z you are getting a lumbering, slow, sloth-like jump shooter who will give the Heat a mere 12 mintues per night and never see the floor in the 4th quarter. Other than Haslem, question who is going to rebound the ball and stop anyone from defending the paint? Good luck – alot of flash and no one to stop anyone in the middle. Golbert could careless about $100K. As far as the Cavs – they will be an 8th seed and maybe not even make the playoffs. Good riddance to Lebron. Nice player – but he quit in game 5 and is not mentally tough – like Wade. you can have him. He was a baby in high school, his mother will be in the papers in Miami causing commotion and his entourage – don’t want to go there. Alot of thuggery leaving Ctown and that is a good thing!!

Actually, Raja Bell is a pretty good bench player. If he stays healthy, he could be a solid role player for whoever signs him. I’m not sure why you are being critical of a team attempting to sign him. The Heat reportedly had interest in him, so I’m not sure where you are coming from by mocking a team for having interest in him.

I think both Howard and Z are good signings. Not because of any numbers they’ll be able to produce, but because of what they’ll be able to teach the 2 new bigs about how to play NBA-style ball. That’s why Z only got a 2-year deal. Play one, “assistant coach” another, or “play” both. Either way, it’s obvious he was brought in to be a mentor. Same for Howard. Might not be able any more, but the knowledge never leaves. Dexter Pittman might prove to be a future beast in the league.
