First of all, classy move by Cav fans to back up their organization and send LeBron a message at the same time
But you’ve really got to hand it Gilbert – the guy is shrewd and knew exactly what he was doing by saying what the fanbase wanted to hear… he saved far more than $100,000 in season ticket sales at the very least.
And how shrewd is it to have the donations go to helping the FUTURE LeBron develop…. perhaps next time they can get a hometown phenom who might actually show some loyalty to the hometown that flocked to watch him play since he was a Freshman in High School. Here’s betting Gilbert matches whatever is donated to put the icing on the cake.
Of course Gilbert’s pledge to have Cleveland win a championship before wasn’t his shining moment… if he’s serious about that I might wager my house against his organization
But then again, he never specified an “NBA” championship, did he? These guys take the intramural softball league by storm and Gilbert’s a man of his word.
