I usually don’t banter back and forth with mindless drones trying to talk crap about my teams. I live in Colorado, but grew up in Chicago. All of teams I support. Not just one, but all. I read over the comments, and Prometheus’ comments stick out the most. I think it is great that you are loyal to the Bucks (thick and thin, as you put it). That is how I am with mine. I endured heartbreak after heartbreak. Watched my teams that should have contended and won World Championships, falter, and fade. Lived through horrific and soul sucking years of inadequacy with all of my beloved teams. So, let’s assume that you are from the Wisconsin area…Prometheus. Let’s examine your teams. First off, your beloved Bucks. They won an NBA title in 1971. I was only a few months old when this occurred. What have they done since? The Bulls Have Championships in 1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998. They would have easily won in 1994 and 1995 had Jordan not retired to suck at baseball. Now we come to the Milwaukee Brewers. They have a championship as well. One in 1957. What have they done since? The White Sox won in 2005 (ending a very hard to stomach drought). The Cubs, will they probably will never win in my lifetime. So to be fair, you can say that they suck. The Packers. Three time Super Bowl Champs. 2 with Bart Starr, and 1 with Brett Favre. Two quarterbacks better than ANY quarterback we have ever had. Still, we won a superbowl with Jim McMahon in 1986, and went to a superbowl in 2007 with REX GROSSMAN!! We lost in 2007 (obviously), however, Tommie Harris sat out of the game and we couldn’t stop the run. There was a 21 year gap between our superbowl appearances. Theres is a 29 year gap between the Packers superbowl appearances. In my lifetime (1970), every team in Chicago has won a Championship except for the Cubs and Fire. Every one of them has gone to the Championship game/series, except for the Cubs. What about your lifetime? Were you there in 1971? Maybe alive, but did you get to enjoy it? What about 1957? Did you see that World Series? Chicago has plenty of Championship quality teams.

Miller? He’s about 87 years old. Who is Asik? Ha ha ha. Redick and Korver are included? Ok. Face it. It’s Rose, Boozer, Deng and Noah, with a peppering of Gibson. Thing is, Gibson’s and Deng’s most effective spot is the 3. Boozer and Noah ideally play the 4. No skill players anywhere. As I said, Rose is GONE in 2 years, guaranteed. With those bloated contracts around him, crippling the Bulls, I don’t blame him.

Enuff said, every team has its ups and down but Chicago has alot of Championship caliber teams the last few years. What city do you come from that has won so many chapionships that you can make fun of other fan?? Not many citys won more champs that chicago in differnt sports. so stfu

I do like your Bucks team. Bogut is pretty fierce, when healthy, Jennings is on the right side of streaky, Salmons is good for a half-year of good productivity and Maggette is a strange X factor for your offense (only).
(I didn’t mean to make the language so conditional there …)
But, you don’t crush in the depth department. And, my guess is you jump to depth to side-step how your starting 5 does not stack up. Your only bonus cards are: Bogut has the edge and Salmons will play up against us (yet doesn’t have the edge over almost any of the potential SG agents for the Bulls could get) … aaaand … we have watched Salmons tired moves more than anyone and should be ready for them.)
Paralleling your assumptions, the Bulls have some serious potential on the bench. Gibson has shown good mettle already has has yet more upside, James Johnson could easily become a crazy talented NBA player – RIM PUNISHER AND SHOT BLOCKER (if he can get control of his handles and assignments) – on both sides of the floor and, assuming Korver is off the bench – straight deadly.
Your team is about to step into the place the Bulls have been for a few years now. And, we can possibly into the real contender arena.

Prometheus, REALLY, let’s Get Real, or whatever you choose to call yourself, the BP line is for the fact that you are stating the obvious and attacking someone for getting excited about their team by using the Miami Heat’s success in the off-season to put a Bulls fan down. Kind of like how the right wing homers are doing by always supporting the big corporations that really run the government, and then always complaining about how the government is run. In other words, you’d side with whoever has the chips on their side…I know you buddy, you’ll be rooting for the Heat once you see your Bucks being dismantled by that team if they meet. Or maybe you’ll magically lose interest.
As far as depth is concerned, this is what I meant:
Boozer, Deng, Noah, Rose, Redick (if they get him), Korver, Gibson, Asik, Miller (maybe)
That isn’t depth to you? Bucks vs. Bulls, I’ll take the Bulls if I’m a betting man. But in the end, you’ll take the Heat. I know.

We’re taking the Central with your player, Salmons, joining with Jennings, Bogut, Maggette, Gooden, Mba Moute, Delfino, Ilyasova, Douglas-Roberts, and our 3 high-ceiling picks, Larry Sanders (Theo Ratliff-esque), Darington Hobson (Poor man’s Tayshaun Prince), and Tiny Gallon (A big baby-type with more length, athleticism, a better jump shot, and above all, higher potential, just like Davis though, he does have weight and character issues).

Actually I really didn’t think about that as I put in the name, not a Heat fan. A fan of the team that’s going to win the Central, the Mlwaukee Bucks. But this, was cute:

I have tons of friends from Chicago, they’re great people, until sports comes up, and then they transform into brainwashed cult members…until the end of the year, then, they want ‘everybody fired’. Face facts, you went all in this offseason, fell flat on your face, and now will be losing Rose when his contract is up in 2 years. You guys used to talk about Hinrich as you do Noah, the fact remains, nobody in the league wants to pay with either. Also, you’ve now over-payed for Boozer, and Deng in recent years, not a good foundation, congrats on winning it all this year.

Like the solid role player pick ups for the Bulls. It was glaringly obvious they didn’t have a 3pt threat last season (r.i.p Kirk). Adding two of the top 5 marksmen in the league is a solid move. Now they just need a solid perimeter d (Brewer?), back up big man (Miller or Asik?), and a PG to give Rose a breather (Fisher,Re-up Law?). Definitely a team to worry about on the ups. Who is gonna do the banging and dirty work down low in Miami? Remember Shaq referring to Bosh as the “Rupaul of the big men in the league.” He was right…

Let’s understand something folks! Miami is a great team, no doubt but, statistically Boozer is better than Bosh in FG%, Rebounds and averages only one point per game lower Than Bosh. He has a better post game than bosh and even a better free throw shooter. Rose in a year will be just as good as wade so laBron is great but we have a deffensive genius in taj gibson who im sure will keep labron busy hes tall and quick. So heat fans don’t be surprised if the bulls can pull another great player this offseason besides kyle korver and J.J. We need Carmelo big time. He could definitely make us competitive with the Heat. I need to see this happen. The Heat could easily walk away with 4. After that Lebron is 30, but has played 12 years, Bosh is 31, and Wade is 33 with knees of a 50-year old. They could still walk away with another 2 after that conceivably. But if we can manage to get Carmelo by trading Deng…Well, then there’s a chance. A serious chance to upstage these punks in South Beach. Please do everything you can to make this happen.

I don’t like the Korver or Reddick moves. Preserve the cap space for next year by signing veterans to 1 year deals, say Stackhouse or Q Richardson and or even McGrady. Whoever.
The thing that kills all these teams is paying replaceable pieces with $5+ million a year multi-year contracts (Gorcat 5 years $34 million, Ty Thomas 5 years $40 million??!?!) when you can get an old comparable veteran for 1 year and less pay.
The Bulls are the 4th best team in East already without any of these moves. These moves make them more competitive with lesser teams, but not Miami. They’re still the 4th seed either way. If they want to compete with and BEAT Miami for the next 5 years, they need another star, not “pieces”.
Preserve cap space for Carmelo next year or big mid-season trade.
