Dan Gilbert marks down LeBron to discount prices

Jul 9, 2010, 7:36 PM EST

lebronfathead03.jpgDon’t know if you noticed, but Dan Gilbert was a little angry last night. What with the angry letter and the angry phone calls and the playing it up for the angry mob.

Then this morning his company took a little dig at James.

Gilbert is the owner of Fathead, the people that make life-size picture of your favorite athlete to put on your fraternity house wall.

This morning, the price of the LeBron James dunking Fathead poster dropped from $99 to $17.41

Why $17.41 you ask? Well 1741 happens to be the year Benedict Arnold was born. You remember him from high school history, right?

Oh, that Dan Gilbert is so clever.

You get the feeling this little grudge match is going to go on for a while.

The media can keep bashing Gilbert for his letter and outright anger towards LeBitch, but I happen to find it refreshing. I wish the owner of my favorite team acted like he cared that much. Kudos to Mr. Gilbert!

I think it was an attempt to draw attn to himself… it was deliberate rant to show ppl they still have ambitions and stop market cap erosion! clever guy!

I hope LeBum never wins a title.
He’s just a spoiled little boy.
Would Kobe dribble out the last minute of an elimination game?

  6. hnirobert - Jul 9, 2010 at 9:55 PM

didn’t Kobe demand a trade from the Lakers 5 or so years ago? doesn’t he have a terrible relationship with his hometown of philadelphia? stop holding lebron to kobe’s standards and stop holding kobe to michael’s.
you can love gilbert all you want, because that’s all you’re going to have. the fact that soft spoken guys like durant have come out and questioned gilbert’s comments proves one thing: NO FREE AGENT WILL EVER WANT TO PLAY FOR A PSYCHOPATH, have fun with your 15 win seasons

Who the hell would buy a fathead of Lebron James in a Cavs jersey right now anyways?

  8. ANT - Jul 9, 2010 at 11:12 PM

ya may think gilbert is god ! but the real god left the cavs ! he is just mad he lost him and that he is going to lose money that is all , owners keep stars not let them go! good luck cleveland with your 20 win season hahaha ,

  9. Anonymous - Jul 9, 2010 at 11:25 PM

id rather have a 20 win season with guys who actually play hard and have respect for themselves, teammates and the game of basketball,Unlike Lebron and how he has acted since the end of the season.I for one love when someone shows passion for what they do and thats what Gilbert has shown

  10. ANT - Jul 9, 2010 at 11:41 PM

GILBERT DID NOTHING ….. so now he is awesome cause he comes out and does this cmon ! if he was a real owner like any team from dallas , miami , l.a ! he would improve the team, he was trying to win a championship with 1 guy , lebron is awesome but jordan nor kobe have ever one a title on they’re own, so instead of ruining a team and not doing anything to build on it you have turned into a team that wont make it on national tv games unless they play miami which will be twice next season ! long live the king ! and i hope he shoves it down cleveland :)
