Wojnarowski: Chris Paul to sign with LeBron's marketing company

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, Hornets guard Chris Paul has left Octagon marketing to join LRMR, the marketing company run by LeBron James and three of his childhood friends. The firm now has three clients; James, Timberwolves guard Jonny Flynn, and Paul.

Earlier today, there were reports that the Cavaliers have been attempting to trade for Flynn, and have also attempted to trade for Paul at multiple points during this off-season. Paul and James are close friends, and have both been working out in Akron, Ohio, over the course of this week.

Paul’s jump to LRMR could be seen as a harbinger of an 11th-hour miracle trade by the Cavaliers tonight, but the far, far, far, far more likely scenario is that the signing was timed to coincide with LeBron’s one-hour signing special, which is being run by LRMR. Just another strange piece of news on one of the strangest NBA days in recent memory.

LeBron James announces that he will buy the Miami Heat, endorse the New York Knicks, marry two of the LA Clippers’ Spirit Dancers in a Utah ceremony in August, become Executive Vice President of Mining and Distribution for Polyus Gold (NJ Nets’ owner Mikhail Prokhorov’s gold empire) and play basketball part-time for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

How long do you think it will take for CP3 (Chris Paul) to join LeBron, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami! A hot second – they need a point guard.
