D WADE.. You are a genius. You will lead three of the best players in the league. How did you sell LeBron to be your sidekick? It may seem like an equal partnership. But you will always have one more ring then James. You know I am right when you lay your head down on your pillow each night you will laugh at LeBron and Chris. You are truly a great salesman and the real KING! When Lebron opens his eyes and sees what he has done and how he did it he will be crushed. And if you guys don't win a Championship in two years you will tear each other apart.

Good job Mr. Dan Gilbert! Our sympathy is with the whole Cleveland City and Cavaliers organization. James is the most ridiculously overrated player in the history of any Sports. Cleveland will win multiple NBA Championships and James will retire as a loser!

Im disapointed at the Gilbert and Cleveland fans, but sadly not surprised. Feeling hurt is no reason to call the man a coward, disloyal and curse him and his family. Gilbert and alot of the fans are way out of line and are just acting crass. The right and classy thing to have said was we are disappointed your going, you made the wrong choice, thanks for the memories and root like hell against him when he plays your Cavs. The scorched earth approach Cleveland is taking is only making Cleveland look bad. I was fully prepared to feel bad for Cleveland till I saw Gilbert's letter and read the Cavs fans comments.
The fact is for 7 years, Lebron has singlehandedly made the Cavs a team worth rooting for. Much as Cav fans dont want to hear it right now, the Cavs didnt make Lebron, he made the Cavs. He carried that franchise, and made every other marginal player on there look good like no other player in the league could. No player had to work harder on the floor over the past seven years to make their team seem way better than it was.
Lebron earned every penny Gilbert paid him, and the right to go where he pleased when he fulfilled his contract. Gilbert is a businessman who made back several times what he paid Lebron, and in a few years with a few injuries he would have been looking to trade Lebron away like the commodity he sees him as. No? Look what happened to Shaq in LA.
Lebron left because he realized especially after his injury last postseason that physically he wont be able to do what he does for too much longer. If he has an off night or cant play or be superman, the Cavs become a below average team. The man wants to take it easier in Miami, win some rings and extend his career a few years. He is entitled to do so.

Okay the way he handled the situation and used the media to show-boat his self was not professional or fair to any of the teams. This I agree with. But to be angry and to call him a "coward" for making a decision for HIS LIFE and HIS FUTURE is ridiculous. There are additional factors and reasons for him wanting to go to Miami. To put an entire cities hopes and economic problems on one guy is not fair at all. ESPECIALLY when he DID put in 7 great years. He brought Cleavland fans together for 7 years. Not to mention how much he helped the economy for all those years.
I guess the question you may want to ask yourself before you go attacking one man is, If a ship is sinking, do you stay on until the end and have limited chance of survival or do you jump off and try and increase your chance of surviving.
This is the situation he was put in. Again how he handled everything with the media was a bit immature, but he is also a 25 year old guy who never went to college and experienced life in that sense. So give the guy a break, he is probably facing disappointment and anger from close family & friends and honestly does not need anymore from a mentally unstable owner and fans who think he "betrayed" them. How did he really "betray" you? You are all fans of the Cleavland Cavaliers, so start acting like one and go support your team instead of turning all your anger and disappointment to one player. Remember HE IS ONLY ONE PLAYER! If anything this just goes to show how much faith you all have in the rest of the team. So every time a player leaves your town because he see's a better opportunity, you are going to turn around and call him a "traitor"?
Yes, he did lower himself in comparison to other great players such as Michael Jordon, Kobe Bryant, Dwayne Wade, etc all of whom built their teams and won a championship. But so what, that is the decision he made and that he will have to face the consequences of in the future.
So start acting like a mature group of people and work for the betterment of your city for the future because Cleavland will get their one day. They will win a championship, but it will also take the loyal support of its citizens to do so.
Lastly, Dan Gilbert if you ever read this- You are probably one of the most immature & disrespectful owners in the NBA today. (Yes more then Mark Cuban) Grown a pair and move on. You are doing exactly what Lebron did. Using the media to put Lebron in a negative spotlight so in the end people will feel pity for the Cleavland Cavaliers. A good tactic, but a pretty low one at that. If ownership was not based on a financial contingency, but more so on skill and communication ability, you would be long gone as you suck in both of these fields!

Lebron is selfish? LeBron didn't owe CLeveland anything. He gave them seven of the most exciting years the city has ever seen. He carried this team.He put Akron on the map and took Cleveland out of the laughingstock column. Against that history, I really don't think the local fans in Ohio can begrudge him the chance to move on now. Dan Gilbert is angry because losing lebron will put less money into his pocket.
Also not to Train: It doesn't take one to win a championship. Look the NBA champions recently. Kobe had Gasol, Odom, Artest, Bynum. Celtics had their big 3 and the rise of Rondo.

Lebron is just inferior to Wade, so he knows he needs those guys to win. For all his talent, he just doesn't have the ability to win when it counts. For the last 7 years he has been overhyped for his incredible talent but that doesn't translate into a winner. Tim Duncan, Dwyane Wade and Kobe all have it. Lebron doesn't. It's not his fault he needs to go somewhere else because he would never have won a title by himself.

If LeBron seriously wanted to play with Wade and Bosch to win championship and he also wanted to remain loyal to the Cavs, I am certain he could have had the Cavs sign both Wade and Bosch. LeBron is certainly a bigger star than both those guys so why should he have not move to Miami and not Wade to Cleveland. LeBron could have had the Cavs hired whatever coach he wanted. But then again you can fault a guy for doing what he thinks is best for him. The great ones - Jordan, Magic, Bird, Kobe, etc - win championships by remaining loyal to their teams. So LeBron has effectively forfeited his claim to greatness.

LOL petty? You could say it was petty of Lebron James to make a complete mockery of Cleveland, especially with the press conference on national TV without even letting them know his decision beforehand. and it's not like the cavs did every single thing to improve the team just so baby Lebron would be happy, oh wait they did. just a slap in the face to the cavaliers organization and Cleveland in general.

Yah gotta love the Cavs did you see Gilberts statement here it is, from cavs.com
A Letter From Cavaliers Majority Owner Dan Gilbert
Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;
As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.
This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.
Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.
The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.
There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.
You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.
You have given so much and deserve so much more.
In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:
"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE"
You can take it to the bank.
If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.
Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.
Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.
This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become.
But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio.
The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.
Just watch.
Sleep well, Cleveland.
Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day....
I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:
DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue....
Dan Gilbert
Majority Owner
Cleveland Cavaliers

Great statement by the Cavaliers organization. LeBron does not deserve to be thanked. The Cavs did everything they could over the last 7 years to become a title contender. The Heat tanked over the last 2 years and luckily won the free agent lottery. His his decision, LeBron is disrespecting his community, his hometown and the game of basketball. I understand his desire to win a championship, but not his legacy is forever tarnished. He can no longer be compared to Jordan, Bird, Magic, Kobe, Russel or any other dedicated champion. They took pride in their ability to lead a team and meld with other role players and talent to become champions. He's taking the money and trying to horde talent to get to the promised land without putting in the hard work that honors yourself, the fans, and this incredible game. I can't wait to see what happens over the next couple of month and the next couple of years.
