Everything you wanted to know about "The Decision" but were afraid to ask

Jul 7, 2010, 6:18 PM EST

Just like our wars and national disasters, it didn’t take long for the LeBron James special to have its name and logo. The theme music can’t be far behind.

The Decision” will air on ESPN and ESPN Radio starting at 9 p.m. eastern on Thursday night. The ESPN on-air team of Stuart Scott, Michael Wilbon and Jon Barry will sit around a desk and expound upon the happenings.

The announcement is expected in the first 15 minutes of the show. Then Jim Gray will get the first interview with LeBron (please ask about Pete Rose betting on baseball, please?).

LeBron will be at the Boys and Girls club in Greenwich, Connecticut for the event — because he is going to New York right after.

But not for that. Probably. He is going to Carmelo Anthony’s wedding in NYC over the weekend (which is being filmed for its own reality show, seriously). What we’re saying is don’t read much into the location.

What else could you want to know about the show? Oh, that. Sorry, we have no idea anymore.

unless LeBron is the biggest A-hole in Cleveland sports history he isn’t going anywhere.
he is fully aware of this cities heartbreak’s when it comes to our sports franchises.
would he dare hold a one hour globally watched press conference to burn his hometown
after knowing and publically acknowledging these heart-breaks? i highly doubt it.
everyone is asking why is he doing this. i think this is a marketing plan by nike and or his
inner circle. LeBron put cleveland on the map nationally and now he’s gonna put us on
the map globally. everyone knows that basketball is a global sport, especially in Asia. in
china Kobe is king not LeBron. if LBJ wants to really become a billionaire he need’s to
earn overseas, especially in china. they have the money and the people to make him a
multi billionaire, but right now they are luke-warm on him. the chinese and japanese
have specific values and the two most important of them are honor and loyalty. if this
one hour special is played out like i think it will be they will eat it up and so will we. if
not then LBJ shoulda hired me to do it. it’s a simple easy sell, not just in Ohio or
nationally, but internationally. hometown boy choose’s loyalty, family, fans, over big city
    spotlight and better opportunity. BRILLIANT!!!

You think he’s announcing where he’s going in such a huge fashion right before going to NY and he’s not going to be a Knick? Of course he is! LeEgo is going to overshadow Melo’s wedding and then spend the next week or so in the NYC getting pampered by his new employer.
