As a Cavs fan, Shaq is a liability unless he is guarding Dwight Howard, he doesn’t have the lateral quickness to help against penetration, he’s done. I give the guy credit for staying in the best possible shape he can for his age, but his post game has become painful to watch. Bye Shaq.

It’s time for Shaq to jump back into his highly lucrative acting career. Wait, that’s like saying he is a dominate player on the court. Sorry folks, after watching him in Cleveland last year you can stick a fork in him, he is done. Going through the pain of watching miss after miss from under the basket was enough to realize this guy is done.
Saddest part about it is it leaves Cleveland with no center. Z is done too. After starting off his career with his feet cut open more than they were stitched shut, age is probably against Z than most other players in the league.
If I were Shaq and the offer is serious I would take it and relax before retiring. I’m sure he has one or two highlights left in him because even a blind squirrel can find a nut from time to time but touting him as an impact player, Atlanta fan sounds more desperate than I would have thought considering the Joe Johnson signing.

shaq is not on cleveland anymore. he is a free agent,and trust me cavs do not want to sign him at even 1 dollar. its realley a shame when it is all over shaq will have played for 10 teams and will be 45 years old.

You people are delusional. Shaq is a non-factor in the league anymore. His time is not just past, it’s long gone. His minutes-per-game of effectiveness are next to nothing. Big body? Obviously. Menacing presence? Not even close. Footwork has slowed. No longer the rebounder or scorer or shot-blocker he maybe once was. And since he still won’t man-up and do something about his inability to shoot free throws, he’s now officially a late-game liability. He is NOT the missing piece to some team’s championship dreams.
If the Hawks are offering, Shaq, you better jump on it. Because no one else will make an offer for two years. Your body’s breaking down relative to what an 82-game NBA schedule demands. One year? Maybe. TWO years? Please. Younger, more athletic bigs will beat him down the floor for easy buckets all game long.

Interesting twist. Even if he’s old, Shaq is Shaq so he’s still a force inside the paint. Atlanta will be a stud next season if this happens + if they get Childress back. they should get another PG, they have that Jeff Teague guy though, is he good?

This is certainly a great news for the Hawks fan.
I think what would be more productive is keeping Joe Johnson, Josh Smith doing their thing, But the Hawks need to let Al Horford down to Marvin Williams position because is far productive as power forward when it comes to playing a big guy, but of course let Shaq Start at the Center position. now no matter what hawks do in their rotation Marvin williams should be the one on the bench, but please Josh is powerful presence on the Hawks floor, so no one should even consider trading a guy like that or even get him off the bench. Let Go Hawks!
