Maybe your Yankee hats’ to low and you cant appreciate the true beauty Miami has to offer as a REAL city. One of the largest and most diverce in the country, even the world. Up there with the likes of New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. The endorsement factor is true and publicity, yeah maybe. But we all know D-Wade has millions rolling in from his deals, and were does he play? Miami. Not to mention LeBron in what city… Cleveland. So location is not a factor, if the skills are there the endorsements will find you! Who from the Knicks is on tv or on mags? No One.
By the way maybe you heard of the Calle Ocho Festival…

Maybe it’s true that you can make more money here in endorsements (and maybe that’s just a myth in the internet age), but the fact is you will give a whole lot of it back in taxes, and the rest will disappear in cost of living expenses. Comparing what Wade would make in NYC vs in Miami or in Houston, both of which have no state income tax, is not going to be a winning argument for the Knicks.
Someone who makes 100K in Houston has to make at least $150K in NYC to live the same lifestyle, and probably more like $180K. So $100M in Miami is like $66M in NY. That is a ton of money to give up for the “honor” of playing in the Garden.
I don’t see Wade falling for it.
Wade goes to Chicago or stays in Miami.
Bosh should really go to Cleveland and win some championships, but maybe he’ll go to Houston for better money. Unless Wade and him both go to Chicago, that makes sense too.
Knicks will get a medium-talent point guard and then might grab Melo if they are lucky…

All that stuff about food is curious. I live in Miami where Wade is probably over-covered by the media (I over-read it all) and yet I’ve no idea what he likes to eat although he has been seen once in a while at an upscale steakhouse. Anyway, with his money he can have chefs flown in from wherever he wants, whenever he wants.

Dwyane is a great guy but he has certainly allowed Miami fans to become suspicious of his actions. This Miami fan base has always supported him in every way. Dwyane its time to tell Mr. Arison that as loyal as he has been to you is as loyal as you are going to be with him. He is giving you the world and it is wrong of you to treat him like this. Get it done stop playing with the powers above.

I so agree. I hope Walsh goes and gets him too. He needs the money badly, so Dolan should make a case that he can make the billion in New York he told LeBron he could make here. To me, Wade is practically on the same level as LeBron. He’s in the top 3 anyway in the NBA.

Why are the NY-ers on here so delusional? I’ve never seen more entitled fans in my life. Face it, you’re getting shut out of the Big 3 of this year’s FA class and you just severely overpaid on a defense-deficient PF with extremely questionable knees. Why wouldn’t Wade or LeBron want to come to NY? The Knicks may end up being a player on the Sign and Trade front, but do you really think NO is gonna give up Chris Paul or SA is gonna give up Tony Parker for Wilson Chandler and couple of draft picks? These last couple of days will have been all a bunch of hype. We just saw the biggest free agency signing of the summer and that was Amar’e to the Knicks. Lebron stays in Cleveland because the city will pretty wither away without him. DWade stays in Miami, Bosh goes somewhere like Houston and we’ll stop caring about him the same we we didn’t care when he played in Toronto. No Melo to NY because he’ll lose millions if he doesnt sign his extension this summer. I can only pray that Amar’e's knee doesn’t explode the third game into next season

Miami? Hotels and beaches and that’s it–not a real city, not a real fan base. Cuban food? Please, NYC is the most international city in the world. Every culture is heavily represented here, just look at the 2 million spectators who showed up for the Puerto Rican Day Parade. If you want to be in the most important place in the world, look no further than NY.
