Introducing the Washington Wizards, the least likable team in all of professional sports

Jul 6, 2010, 12:34 PM EST

The Wizards’ disastrous ’09-’10 season apparently needed a proper bookend, so ESPN decided to close things up; in their Ultimate Team Rankings, ESPN rated Washington 122nd out of 122 professional sports teams in both ‘player likability’ and ‘fan relations’ (via Dan Steinberg of D.C. Sports Bog). Ouch. Shaun Livingston, Quinton Ross, and Alonzo Gee are clearly far more hateable than I ever would have imagined.

John Wall’s presence alone should prevent the Wiz from taking the title again next year, unless he happens to be a big BourrĂ© player. I hear that doesn’t go over so well in D.C. these days.

Someone explain to me how Shaun Livingston is unlikable? He is one of the most inspirational players in the NBA.

Overall, Clippers are ranked 122nd out of 122. Not shocking.

Keep talking about the wizards.. they not going after the big name guys like Lebron and Wade adnd them..just getting young guys who will fit their system. When Gilbert comes back and play the SG he averaged 25 and 8 before he went out. Good point about the “likability” tho because here in DC.. all you see is the National hats and Redskin jerseys oh yeah the Redskins can such year in and year out and still have more fan base than 95 percent of the NFL.

    THE WIZ ARE NOT 122nd.
Your research and writing skills are so porous, you should be ranked 123 / 122. Understand whats going on before you hit the CPU with your inflammatory writing and stupid quips.

When jordan was here, the Wiz were the number one team in the league in attendance. See? So that means the Washington Wizards are the greatest team in the history of sports and the universe.

The team went from taking a BULLET to taking a WIZ …
not a great perception , either way.
