Hey Alan, his name is spelled LeBron, not Labron. His true and only REAL fans know this.
You never ever heard anything about MJ's contracts when he was winning championships, or over the length of his career for that matter. Stay home and win some rings, and stop the circus. Play ball. I'm with "endorse this" professional sports are out of hand. Why are any of these players worth that much money? Because they play a sport? It's a damn shame, and the fans that blow all their money to support it are worse for putting up with it. Where's it gonna end?

It will not matter where LeBron plays, endorsements will be huge. Location will not matter when we are dealing with a global market. It's all about the players, not the teams. Besides, the way the economy is failing in the US he needs the Chinese and Russian markets to sell mass quantities and since they won't be paying the freight to transport the product overseas the Chinese should get his shoes for 100 bucks a pair instead of 150. Although we are probably looking at something more in the 200-250 dollar range by the time this is done.
I can't afford the merchandise sold by pro sports teams and I have a full time job. As the taxes get higher nobody will be able to afford this stuff except for the wealthy. Professional sports are alienating the blue color fan and turning this into a millionaires circus. Those of you making 40 to 50k a year, how much of that hard earned dough do you want to throw to LeBron, Wade, Bosh....etc? The owners don't pay these players, we do. We get the honor of working our minimum of 40 hours with 2-4 weeks vacation and a couple holidays. These guys work about a half a year, if you call playing a game work and we get to pay their salaries.
You can throw away any possibility of those $10.00 nosebleed seats in the arenas these guys are going to play in, I'm predicting lowest price to be 50.00. Starting with parking, then a couple tickets, some beers and maybe a bite to eat and you are out 300 bucks minimum for the honor and privileged to see them play live. The season will sell out before the preseason starts then what if your precious free agent gets hurt? What's going to be a lot of fun, getting that 12 pack and watching at home or your local pub and wondering where the basketball is between all the commercials.
Am I jealous? No. Is the amount of money these athletes are getting paid out of hand? Absolutely. What exactly is their contribution to society that they deserve this kind of jack? College ball is just as or more exciting than the pro game and it won't set you back a weeks pay to watch.

This is a good offer that the Nets are putting in front of Labron. Only fools really think it's about basketball. If it is really only about basketball then he would play for the clippers or the Bulls. It's more than that so the reality is either the Nets or Knicks would offer global appeal and global dollars. He will make 3X more money in endorsements in New York than anywhere else. My bet is the Knicks! They are dying for a winner in this franchise and he fills the bill. Kobe, west coast, Labron, east coast.

Yeah King James,
Go to Newark and wait two years to move to Brooklyn, then wait another three years as they build a team around you that will still not be quite as good as the one you left back in Cleveland.
Spend your career getting bounced in the second round.
