Rockets to send fan bus to free agency meetings

Jun 28, 2010, 6:34 PM EST

Well, this is certainly creative. According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, the Houston Rockets are planning to send a “three-truck caravan carrying fans” to the team’s free agency meetings. Apparently the idea came from the fans themselves, and will involve three “tricked-out Toyota Tundras” heading to Hope, ARK, where they will wait for the team’s itinerary.

As Stein has previously reported, the Rockets have made it clear that their #1 target this summer is Chris Bosh of the Raptors. Of course, Houston isn’t the only team that wants Bosh: almost every team with enough cap space has Bosh on their radar, and Chicago, Miami, and New York could all potentially pair Bosh with LeBron James or Dwyane Wade. Still, maybe the chance to play alongside Yao Ming in his home state will be enough for Bosh to consider heading to Houston, not to mention the three trucks full of fans at his free agency meeting.
