the knicks had a plan when they hired walsh and dantoni now that plan should come to surface remember we had guys who knew they had no chance of coming back so the desire was not there to win now guys know there going to be arround and have something to play for regardless what happens their hadded in the right direction go knicks

The 1st thing the knicks need to do is get rid of mike d and his silly system 2nd sign david lee your crazy to let 20 and 10 walk away when he has proven himself. Let’s look at building a real team with a solid coach say Byron Scott he would be able to motivate he mite even get some use out of curry and then by the feb trade deadline he could have some real value. Free agency additions should focus on joe johnson. Save the rest and coach what you have next year mello could be on the market. But first thing first get rid of mike d.

D’Antoni has coached 6 full NBA seasons. Of the four with the Suns he lost 2 conference finals, a conference semifinal and a first round loss. The only times he missed the playadapt offs were with an NBDL roster in New York.

Trading Curry/Chandler for Arenas is very fair but in order for the Knicks to get 2 max deals, the Wizards would have to eat a lot of the contract which they are hoping not to do. I am a Wizards fan and am on the side of dump him for nothing if the contract goes with him.

PTown: I could not agree more, but not sure who the Knicks could even get who could fill that role…not many players today in the mold of John Starks and Charles Oakley…even the “best” defensive players are primarily quick players who get steals…with the excpetion of Lebron and D-Howard…
I feel like the game has changed and defense is not what it was. This has become a scorers league and few players last in the league with that hard nose mentality…

The Knicks are doomed until they get rid of D’Antoni and his brand of sissy ball! It disgusts me as a lifelong Knick fan that we actually have had a team for the last few seasons that doesn’t believe in playing defense… As wishful as many Knicks fans have been, including myself, let’s be realistic! Just look at the score of the last game of the season vs. Toronto… we gave up 131 pts… we probably gave up 120-140pts 10-15 games this past year. You don’t win in the NBA playing defense like that! Not to mention a 7 seconds or less offense is garbage, good offense is passing the ball, and not all this 1 on 1, jacking the ball up in 7 seconds from the time you inbound. D’Antoni only plays a 6-7 man rotation, which is ridiculous considering how tired & fatigued you would get, plus it limits you if you get into foul trouble. The Knicks need to “COMPLETELY” rebuild, and that starts off with management/coaching & and philosophy! They will more than likely land Amare & Joe Johnson… so basically they will be another Phoenix Suns run & gun team who gets their ass whooped in the 1st round of the playoffs

No way Rubio is coming. Love to have him but he is certainly staying in Europe for another year. If i were the knicks i would (sadly) give up on LeBron and go after joe johnson and amare. hopefully the knicks wont have to commit max money to them and then hopefully then the knicks could trade curry and chandler for gilbert arenas? if not now maybe at the February trade deadline if the wall/arenas experiment fails. hopefully…

Rubio is not coming to Minny, not a chance in hell that happens…
If Kahn was going to take Zach Randolph for Al Jefferson, Chandler is not that far off…plus they just traded Gomes and really have a need at wing/SF…
I think it is a better match then you think

Rubio will never step foot in Minnesota. I agree that Jefferson is worth more than Curry/Chandler…..but give up on the Rubio thing.

Are you on crack? Even David Kahn isnt stupid enough to trade Big Al AND Rubio for…for…absolutely nothing.
Rubio will be playing in MN or wont be playing in the NBA..the marketing department already has a ton of Rubio promotions waiting to be used once he gets here.
And Big Al is worth a lot more than Curry/Chandler…the ACL injury takes at least a year to fully recover..he is a dominant offensive post player and is like only 25

If the Knicks could sign both of these players and still have room for a 3rd, then great. That coupled with Eddy Curry’s expiring deal provides nice level of flexibility. But if these 2 get max deals…forget about it.
Also important to remember there is a lot of posturing (and tampering) going on all over the place. We will only know what it is real when players sign their names on the dotted line.
Get ready for the storm…
