I AGREE MONEY IS NOT THE ISSUE WITH LEBRON SURE HE WANTS TO BE THE FIRST “BILLIONDOLLAR” ATHLETE BUT HE WANTS TO DO THAT ON HIS OWN TERMS FACE FACTS IF LEBRON WANTED TO STAY WITH THE CAVS HE WOULD HAVE HINTED HIS INTENTIONS BY NOW, THE CAVS ORGANIZATION IS PATHETIC, HE IS BOLTING TO THE KNICKS THE CAVS DO NOT HAVE THE CAP ROOM TO SIGN OR TRADE FOR A BIG NAMED FREE AGENT, BESIDES WHY WOULD A BIG NAMED PLAYER WANT TO JOIN THE CAVS OF ALL TEAMS WHY NOT JOIN LEBRON IN NEW YORK OR NEW JERSEY I WISH FREE AGENCY STARTED THIS WEEK ITS GOING TO AN AWESOME FREE WEEKS IN JULY 2010

The only way this is even a factor is if he stays in Cleveland, thus making this a “only people in Cleveland care about this problem”. No matter how much his NBA contract is it is nothing compared to endorsements. Lebron may have endorsement problems in Cleveland, but 1 or 2 million a year in lost NBA salary is a joke compared to the money he would make outside of the NBA in Chicago or New York.

Losing 2 million dollars could be a possibility if he opts out of his current contract before June 30. But check out this, Lebron or any of these opt-out players could be traded before July 1st(draft night perhaps?) and sign an extension with that team, hence the player doesn’t lost any money. There are so many options players and teams can choose from. Let’s see who is smart enough to pull this off.
