Sixers may have tipped their hand about drafting Evan Turner

Jun 19, 2010, 9:00 AM EDT

Evan Turner is widely considered the No.2 overall prospect in Thursday’s draft. The Sixers have several needs, but Turner is such a dynamic talent, the national player of the year, that he outweighs other needs they may have. Their recent trade of Samuel Dalembert for Andres Nocioni and Spencer Hawes does leave open the possibility that the Sixers are considering another option.

Or, you know, maybe not.
Tom Ziller of FanHouse reports of a finding from Liberty Ballers that located within the framework of the Sixers website framework Friday was a page containing an image of a draftboard. On that draftboard, clear as day, was Turner as the number two pick. The URL for the page?
Since then, pages have appeared for DeMarcus Cousins and Derrick Favors, but this appears to be a reaction to the discovery of the Turner page.
There’s been a lot of discussion about the Sixers trading out of the pick. But this image at least seems to confirm that the Sixers’ default option at this point is Turner. Now if they’d just put up a webpage for who they’ll be trading Elton Brand to, we’ll be all set.

I think just holding the #2 pick tipped their hand in taking Turner.
