Pritchard confirms search for replacement

Jun 15, 2010, 5:27 PM EDT

According to the twitter account of the Columbian’s Brian T. Smith, Blazers general manager Kevin Pritchard has confirmed that the team is searching for somebody to replace him. There have been rumors circling for some time that Pritchard’s firing is imminent, and that the pick he makes in the upcoming draft will be his last maneuver as general manager of the team.

This would be another major move in what has been a tumultuous year for the Blazer front office; assistant general manager Tom Penn was fired in mid-March, and many have felt that Pritchard has had an expiration date stamped on his forehead ever since that day. With this move, the house-cleaning done by Paul Allen, Vulcan inc., and the rest of the people pulling the strings for the Blazers is pretty much complete. We’ll see if the next batch of people who run the Blazers’ basketball operations get along better with Allen and his associates.

Being a Portland Oregon Resident and watching the Trailblazers become a good team and with players of good character. I hope they don’t get run into the ground again. It’s too bad Portland Oregon is stuck with a owner who dosen’t use good judgement.
Good Luck Kevin Pritchard Thanks for Rebuilding The traiblazers into a good team again
